Growing up Trans (gallery added)

Frontline: Growing Up Trans

PBS 10-11:30pm eastern USA time tonight (Check your local listings for times in your area), & Wednesday, 11:30pm-1am eastern USA time.

Personal stories from children, parents and doctors about the struggles and choices facing transgender children, and new medical interventions available.

For countries & areas that can't get it, check the private, independent, & underground streaming sites for it. Online underground streams may start a few minutes after the eastern USA broadcast begins. Also remember to adjust for your time zone. That means streams of it online begin a few minutes after 3am UK time.

Also it will re-broadcast on most PBS sub-stations or sister stations like "Think",  "Think Bright", or other educational & public TV stations on Wednesday, at 8:30-10pm eastern USA time. I sure there will be some streaming it live then too.

Also within a couple of days to a week, you can probably find the Frontline episode on the torrents or maybe even on you-tube before they take it down.

Sorry to disappoint on links to online streams of the show for those who can't get it outside the USA. Out of almost a dozen independent sources that regularly stream PBS, & Frontline from the USA, they're all off the air & not streaming. I guess all the independent & underground streamers decided they would not stream a transgender episode.

They are either anti-trans, or just paranoid about being accused of being trans-friendly by streaming the broadcast. Ironically if the BBC broadcasted a show on a similar topic, there would be quite a few UK streamers willing to stream it all over the world.

You might want to check the streams when it airs tomorrow again anyway.

I see last week's Frontline episode was in the torrents just 2 days after it aired. We can hope the torrenters will be open minded enough to upload the transgender episode in a couple days too.

Yeah. They looked more convincing. In many previous specials on the topic too many of the kids seem just confused, or just liked cute stuff, to play dress-up, or seemed to have been coached by mom or a sister to be a girl.

Just because one likes cuter, soft stuff, or likes to play dress-up doesn't mean they're trapped in the wrong body & should get meds to delay puberty.

We've seen other kids on TV, the web, & youtube that wanted to be a girl over the years. Most of them that didn't get "treatment" or meds, after they hit puberty their feelings, entire attitude, & outlook on life changed dramatically. We see them on youtube a few years later, & they are quite happy being a boy, doing makeup, & hair, while dating girls or other boys, or grew out of girly things entirely.

Just because a male isn't macho, doesn't like other boys, & likes prettier things doesn't necessarily mean they're a girl trapped inside a boys body. Without interfering with his development & growing up, he may be the next great artist, musician, writer, or scientist (the best ones aren't very macho either).

Until after he hits puberty, he will not know or understand that he might be just a fem boy, sissy, TV, or gay, or simply not macho. The majority of these kids if allowed to grow normally, after a couple years of puberty, are quite happy being a boy even if they still like to be pretty.

Before puberty, they think they're a girl & want to be one because that's the only thing they understand to interpret their feelings. And no matter how school, books, & the doctors explain post-puberty, they will have absolutely no idea until they actually go through it. I don't know what they're teaching kids these days, but you don't start growing hair all over, lose your high voice, & your penis doesn't get real big right away. It takes many years after puberty starts for all that stuff to gradually happen. Most men go through most of high school not having to shave (with a few exceptions).

Plus, for many grown ups, parents, & siblings, it's sometimes easier to think the non-macho boy in the house is really a girl inside with a "treatable condition" rather than admit he might be fem, a sissy, TV, or gay. And there will always be plenty of doctors, therapists, or hospitals willing to make lots of money off of them rather than tell them their kid is a perfectly healthy sissy boy or TV.

Lets not forget there may also be women or girls in the house who don't really enjoy having a macho, loud, & boisterous boy in the house, so will encourage & reward him for showing a delicate, feminine, quiet more peaceful, cuddly side. A few years of that & the boy thinks he's a girl or wants to be one. Esp. when he gets out of the house & finds out the other boys in school & the neighborhood don't like the sissy boy that they turned him into.

I see it's already on the torrents from 3 different sources, for those who missed it or can't see it in their country.

20 seeders on the most popular one so far (you want the one with the most seeders). 458mb file size. 83 minute HD quality video. Average download speeds for it seem to be 700-800kbs. At that speed, it's about a 10 minute download time. On 48kbs dialup (yes many are still stuck on dialup or slow data plans) it takes about 2.6 hours to download. Use peerblock or something similar while torrenting or file sharing for your protection & privacy.

For those who couldn't see it, or a scared of torrents (torrents are safer than youtube but corporations & governments want you to be afraid of them), I didn't have a chance to get any captures of the show, & process them until now.

Here they are.
