Title: Count Louis
Post by: andyg0404 on October 15, 2016, 03:41:48 PM
Hi,

This is the post that was lost when Betty restored the site after the attack. It's a painting of Count Louis V. Zborowski as a child from the Historical Boys Clothing site.

Nice dress & hair. I've been keeping my hair long since 1968 & love it.

Would have loved to be dressed like that at his age or even now if I am to be honest. My sister had a few party or church dresses like that with lace and puffy sleeves and ribbon trim and sash. I did get to try a few on but not all as I was still trying to come to grips with loving all her clothes and hating my own. I did not have too many opportunities to fully go through her dresser or wardrobe and play dress up as much as I would have liked to do.

Nice post Andy. Wow, didn't realise he was the inspiration for Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, if I remember right Jemima wore a very cute frock on the visit to the sweet factory. Couldn't find a screen cap though  ::)
