I always loved looking at Mary Beth's fantasy covers of "improbable" publications. For me in looking over the magazine covers and ads of an earlier time, there was always the possibility of "what if?" This is the first of a few that I will share from time to time.
-
Thank you! Really, thank you, and please continue to share your work.
-
Who can forget those classic Post covers?
-
Spankiepants I am truly enjoying your post. Thank you!
-
I resemble that LOL :)
Luv Jeangurl :-[
-
Me too....
Hugs
Mary Beth

I just love the old Post covers. They take us back to a time when schools had a "dress" code and boys had to follow it.
-
We can't forget TV shows either. Back in the '50s there were always product tie-ins where the characters on the program were using the sponsors' products. What might have happened if a certain TV show had a product tie-in with a diaper company?
-
Back to the Post and an earlier version of a famous cover submitted by an obscure illustrator named Norma Rockwel. This is actually a "cleaner" version than the original Post cover as in this one the patient's bottom is covered.
-
Yes it is cleaner, but Norma added a little pink to the clothing.
-
A "what-might-have-been" ad. Our grateful thanks to Mary Beth Sanford for inventing Gerber teen-size plastic pants which provide the basis for this purported advertisement. Back then when you wore diapers and plastic pants under your "jammies" there was no disguising them!
-
:'( Spankypants, I can't enlarge it enough to read the add. I know my eyes are old, but even with my glasses on; I still can't read most of it.
I know I have no right to complain, because I have no talent at writing or posting pictures. But please just post what the add reads.
Thank you for time, and PLEASE continue to post these pieces of art.

Gunrunner--Sorry about that. The copy was too dense and the image had to be compressed too much to fit onto the site. To save everyone's eyes, I won't post anything in the future with such small type. Anyway, per your request, here's the copy:
"Johnny's mom takes no chances with her bedwetting 13-year-old! No flimsy, leaky pullups for him! At bedtime Johnny is always pinned into double night diapers so he can sleep through the night without a change. And to make sure he wakes up dry in the morning, he always wears Gerber Teen-Size Plastic Pants over his diapers. When Johnny comes out to say good-night to Mommy's guests, they all know there won't be any wet laps or embarrassing accidents when they pat his bottom and hear the reassuring "crinkle" of the Gerber Plastic Pants he's wearing over his diapers. To properly absorb, diapers need to be thick so everyone can see that Johnny is wearing diapers and plastic pants under his sleepers. Diapers and plastic pants are worn to keep older children dry, not to make a fashion statement! Even though everyone can see that Johnny is wearing diapers and plastic pants, he'll wake up dry and happy--and no leaks!"
I could just imagine someone like Don Draper of "Mad Men" writing up this ad copy for the Gerber account.

:)THANK YOU!

It would be interesting (and welcome) if a few of those "real life" TV high school dramas depicted actual embarrassing events that many of us could relate to. Child psychologists agree one of the most traumatic events is having an "accident" at school and its aftermath.

Two ways to a mother's heart:
1. Give her a box of candy on Mother's Day.
2. Enthusiastically wear whatever she dresses you in.
-
A boy's best friend is his mother . . .
-
OMG, OMG. You never cease to amaze! Thank you again.
-
I'm doing a re-post of a previous Post cover to see if the detail shows up better using the program Betty told me about. So, let's see . . .
-
Wow. I probably wouldn't have compressed it down that far, because I would lose too much quality.
I usually use a quality compression setting of around 75 if it's an almost perfect picture, to keep the same quality as the original. I'll use 70 if I don't mind losing a negligible amount of quality that most people wouldn't notice to save a little more on file sizes. I'll use 60-65 if the original was pretty poor quality to start with... even after I tried to enhance & clean it up.
For the background image here & at stories though, I set the quality at 45... no high quality intended for background images that have to load with every visit.
I don't like to compress images too much so that I lose the quality of the original.

Love the pics Spankypants2, the pictures you post are great. Thanks for doing that we are loving it.
-
Angela--Thank you! Your compliment is appreciated.
Betty--Yeah, I saw what I had done when the last image posted. Will post at around 75 so it fits your specs but doesn't compromise the quality of the image. It's all a learning curve for me and I appreciate your patience and advice.

It's amazing what you'll find skimming through old magazines.

Please, no pix larger than 600p tall, & 800 wide. Our system will only display no more than 600x800, but will hold the oversized image to display a smaller 600X800 image until I run automated maintenance. Maintenance & auto-pruning will delete all oversized images. So I have to automatically resize them before I can run any automation so they don't get lost.
Also if I have to reboot to a backup of a site, move it to a different server, or mirror site, auto-pruning of oversized & bad files is a normal process of rescuing, & re-installing the entire system along with all data. Often during an attack, or during extra busy traffic, many visitors are bumped to a mirror site of us. Those pruned oversized images won't be there.
Our automated system is very important, because if I'm sick, disabled, tired, or dead, we'd rely on it heavily on it to keep everything running, secure, efficient, with low bandwidth.
For the most part, our automation replaces the need for many trained & qualified staff members to keep things going well, & maintained at our sites. When I reach a time where it becomes too difficult to maintain Betty's anymore, or am near death, a selling point to fill in or replace me will be that it will take someone a minimum amount of work & tech savvy to take over & guarantee we'll still be around another decade or 2.
Also as a personal request, as a sissy site, we're a crossdressing fantasy & age play site. I'd like to see more crossdressing pictures. A lot of little boys in panties is not only more ABDL than sissy, but also attracts more pedos.
It also attracts more people that hate pedos. Pedos are the most hated people in the world, ranking more hated more than murderers. It's already hard enough to convince people that as a sissy, we want to make believe we're the boy in the dress, & are not into actually being with kids.
It's difficult to convince the outside world, web hosts, donors, sponsors, advertisers, supporters, critics, web companies, & search engines that our sissy sites are just a crossdressing age-play site if there's too many pix of just kids in panties.
It took many years to earn the respect & trust of google, yahoo, microsoft, server companies, advertisers, users, & donors. We are considered trusted, safe, & respectable compared to most sites. Although not forbidden, lots of young boys in panties is not good for us. And our target audience is age-play crossdressers, & those who enjoy them.
More dresses or frilly panties. We don't want to be wrongly targeted & hated as a pedo site again. It's not who we are, I don't want to give people the wrong impression, & certainly do not want to attract pedos or their haters.
I love your stuff. But balance it out with some sissy stuff once in a while instead of just boys in panties, so we can maintain our reputation as a crossdressing, age-play fantasy site. The ABDL theme is an important role & theme for many sissies & sissy sites. But it should not dominate a sissy site over our crossdressing fantasies at our sites. We already have tons of ABDL sites & groups out there anyway.

More like this?

Love it!
Reminds me of a family I knew years ago who had identical twin girls. They once put them in matching pink and blue dresses and someone said something like, "How cute. Twins. Are they a boy and a girl?" My answer would have been a snarky, "Yeah, the one in the pink dress is the boy."
Given what is happening these days, however, boy-girl twins in matching dresses might not be as far-fetched as it was back then.
-
The nice thing about attending prom night at the boys' finishing school is the variety of dresses they are wearing (or made to wear).
-
Who says sissies can't play baseball? (I ought to know!)
There used to be a large number of "bloomer girls" baseball teams barnstorming in the early 20th century that played local female or male teams. Smoky Joe Wood, a Red Sox pitching legend, was a "bloomer girl" when he was in his teens. He said other teen boys (who could pass) were also signed on as "ringers." Perhaps if you are a Baltimore Orioles or Miami Marlins fan you wouldn't mind having one or two bloomer girls on your team right now.
