Hi,

I've always been intrigued by the choir since first seeing Almost Angels in which they put on an opera and play the parts of both the male and female roles. Betty has that on her movie site. I saw an ad in the newspaper that they were back in New York and I thought I would see if there was something interesting on Youtube with them in it. Found this 4 minute video of a scene from the same opera as in the movie.

Andy, thank you for finding this. It brought back memories of my own career as a grade school thespian. For school skits I usually played a bratty little girl and was dressed appropriately (looking like Patty McCormack in The Bad Seed). This continued on through 8th grade. I had to develop a quick karate chop move to deflect any hands that tried to lift up my dress. It was still a lot of fun.

I put a copy of the choir performing from my personal collection on our YouTube channel. Watch or download it from there soon before they delete it. Although the music is not copyrighted, the performance may be.

Sometimes I'm able to negotiate with rights holders to allow short clips, or low bandwidth/low resolutions of the material, while others will be stubborn about even just a few seconds of a blurred clip.

This 1983 choir performance was televised in Japan. This was a very poor VHS tape copy. It was all washed out, all orange, & blurry. It took some considerable enhancing, color correction, noise filtering, & sharpening to get it just this good.
