I am not trying to troll here. This is a serious question.
I "get" transgender: I understand how someone might feel they were born with the wrong kind of body. I "get" how a guy might prefer clothes traditionally associated with females (Larry "Sissy" Goodwin comes to mind).
What I don't get is guys with no desire to actually be female who nevertheless want to pass as female. If a guy wants to wear a dress, why doesn't he just wear a dress, no wigs, no "falsies," etc.? (If he did, it would certainly make it easier for the next guy who wants to wear a dress to do so.) Is it concern about being bullied (or worse) by rednecks, or is it something more subtle?

It's nothing to do with trying to pass as female. It is because being male, while submerging oneself in the fantasy of being female, is, due to the tension between the two opposing states, an intense psycho-sexual experience; and like any other form of fetishism, it demands minute attention to detail.
