Title: Transhood
Post by: andyg0404 on June 21, 2020, 10:44:54 AM
Hi,

For those members of the board who have HBO there is a premiere this week of Transhood, a documentary about transgender children. This is the summary from IMDB.

Filmed over five years in Kansas City, this documentary follows four kids - beginning at ages 4, 9, 12, and 15 - as they redefine "coming of age." These kids and their families reveal intimate realities of how gender is re-shaping the family next door in a never-before-told chronicling of growing up transgender in the heartland. The film is a nuanced examination of how families tussle, transform, and sometimes find unexpected purpose in their identities as transgender families. Lighthearted and deeply moving, this story teaches us something new about being human.

The only site that seems to have pictures from the movie is Pictame which won't open for me. This is a link to the Twitter account of Debi Jackson, Avery's mother, with a picture from the movie ad.

Thanks.  Will try and catch up with that when it becomes more widely available.  A reminder that the impulse to transition almost without exception begins during childhood...
