Title: Movie
Post by: andyg0404 on June 27, 2022, 08:23:55 PM
Hi,

I just watched I Could Go on Singing from 1963 with Judy Garland and Dirk Bogarde. The two of them had an affair that led to the birth of Matt, who is raised by Dirk and has been told that he was adopted. Judy comes to London to perform at the Palladium and seeks out Dirk. He is aloof and tries to hold Judy to her promise that she would never seek out their child. But he relents and they visit Matt at school. Which leads to why I’m mentioning it. At about 25 minutes in, the boys in the school put on HMS Pinafore with the boys all playing the female parts, just like the opera scenes in Almost Angels. It’s a nice little segment and you can see a fragment of it in the trailer although it’s a scene that takes place offstage with Judy singing with the boys.

Cool, thanks. I'll try to find a copy of the movie, I don't remember it (or never saw it), so it will be worth a watch.
