In the hospital with heart & lung problems. Just noticed my room number is 42.
-
Hi Betty,
I'm sorry to hear this recent stress put you in the hospital and hope that it's a short stay and that you're back home very soon.
Best regards,
Andy G.

My pulse was in the 160s-170s continuous for 3 days. Not steady either... It would stall, skipping beats too. Finally my street was clear enough for an ambulance get through Friday morning. Will probably still be in the hospital at least until Monday.
For those who don't know, I have the final stages of severe COPD.
-
Had a scare yesterday, collapsing in the hospital with a pulse of over 200bpm while trying to go poo. It took a couple hours to recover. Did fair overnight but collapsed again this morning, desperately gasping for air. Still trying to recover from it.
-
Took about a dozen pills, 2 treatments, & an I.V. Still not recovered. Pulse down to the 140s.
-
Sorry to hear that you have ended up in the hospital due too heart conditions'. Hopefully you will be out of hospital soon however since you have have too be in hospital at least you can take it easy for a change. Sorry that your pulse have been racing and hopefully that has come down too a normal pulse now. Take it easy and hopefully you will be back home soon.
-
Heart surgery possible today.
-
Good luck Betty, my best wishes for a successful operation and a full recovery.
Andy G.

Looks like I'm not gonna make it. Just barely alive.

Keep on fighting Betty, I know you can do it. I had open heart surgery 5 years ago, you've got to keep going :'(
I'm just recovering from invasive eye surgery myself, but knowing all my friends are still supporting me is strength in itself ....
Thinking of you.

Yes, Betty, hang in there, doctors can work miracles. My friend Bob had a quadruple bypass and lived to be 97. We're all thinking of you and hoping for the best.

Having a terrible time. Signing up for hospice.
-
Slight improvement overnight at the hospital, but nowhere as good as at home. Getting way too out of breath just by sitting up.
-
42? No question then :-). Sorry to hear, Betty. Sending best wishes and healing thoughts from Melbourne Oz. x
-
Wow Betty I finally got back here to find you have taken a turn for the worse. Hang in there please, we need you, you are a Legend. Praying for your safe recovery and hoping the doctors can help you get back home. I have missed visiting here but had computer problems. I sure hope my prayers are answered and you will be back home very soon.
-
Hi Betty, how are you doing today, Still having problems' you back home or in hospital
-
Slight improvement about 3 days ago, then things got much worse again by the next day for no oblivious reasons. Not doing well today.
-
So sorry to hear that, I am still praying for you but I hold no clout with the big guy having left the Catholic Church awhile ago so to speak. Only returned a few times for my mothers benefit. Hope you are in good hands and will see some improvement in the near future as I am sure all the regulars here are rooting for your recovery. Love & Hugs from us Betty, we wish you well.
-
Hi Betty,
Hope you are feeling better and have been able to rest. I just read in the newspaper about the earthquake that hit Buffalo. The paper said it was the strongest in 40 years. Hope you weren't affected or inconvenienced.
Regards,
Andy G.

-
is betty back in hospital

Hello everyone. This is Betty's sister. Sorry it took me a bit to get access to the computer, but I wanted to let you all know that we lost Betty on Feb. 17, at the hospital, surrounded by family. Thank you all for your love and support. I know it meant a lot to Betty.
I'm not sure what will happen to the Pub..... I don't know if the site runs itself or what. I'm not that knowledgeable about the technical stuff. My apologies in advance if it disappears :(
-
So sorry to hear this news. Betty has been a stalwart of our interests for many years and will be sadly missed. May she rest in peace.
Sincere condolences to her family and friends.

Devastated, my heart has been ripped in two.
I have conversed on line with Betty for the best part of 30 years and considered him a dear friend. He will be missed by the community we have here. I hope the boards can remain for a while in memorium to his hard work.
RIP Betty.

So sorry to hear of Betty's passing. He will be missed by many who have come to Betty's sites over the years and I have cherished our friendship for many of them. To Betty's sister, thank you for letting us know as I was checking the site often to hear of any news. Betty set up the web site to run with bots so he had free time but he kept it running when there were cyber attacks sometimes. Hope you can find a good home for Betty's cats as they were companions for may years. Thank you again.
-
Condolences to Betty's sister on her loss. I can only reiterate what's come before me; Betty brightened my day for 20 years and I will miss him a lot.

Thank you all for your kind words. I know these pages meant a lot to Betty. I have his beloved cats, and we are gradually introducing him to our own two cats and cat-friendly dog. They are very sweet, so I don't anticipate any issues, but we are not rushing it. I promised him I would take care of them, and I will.
-
Thank you for that, I expected you may be looking after the cats, they were a special part of his life as was his website and the many friends he made here over the years. He did mention you a few times in his post in the past and that you helped him sometimes. I would have liked to offer him some help as well but my Canadian Passport expired a few years ago and with Covid I just did not renew. He mentioned you had retired awhile ago so I hope that is going well for you. Anyway thanks again for all you are doing, we will miss our old friend very much.
-
Thank you all for being good friends to him all these years <3
-
Does anyone know what is going to happen to this forum now that Betty is gone? And when?
-
I haven't quite figured out everything that Betty did here to keep things running, but the servers are being paid for through the PayPal account, so I'm assuming the site will continue as long as that's done. Any donations made on the site will continue to go towards that expense.
I'll check the email now and then, so you can let me know if there's a problem with the site, and I'll see if I can figure out how to fix it.
I won't be approving any new members though.... Betty worked hard to make this a safe space for everyone, and I don't want to risk that.
Any questions, or issues, don't hesitate to ask :)
Love to all,
Betty's Sis

Thank you for this info as many were wondering, myself included. I knew the site was paid for automatically but did not know if it would continue. Betty had listed me as a moderator but I did not do very much other than try to keep the site safe and try to delete trolls and anything not appropriate. I knew Betty when he was in Canada many years ago and stumbled on this site many years afterward. We exchanged emails and even some snail mail from time to time but I could never manage to visit him as my passport expired many years ago and after the fire he moved and I was not even sure where his new place was. He will be missed a great deal but he was dealing with a lot in the past and now it is all over so I hope he is resting in peace. Thanks again for your post. (Betty's sister).
-
I'm so glad somebody is watching out for trolls and such! Thank you!
Yes, Betty stayed with us for a bit after the fire, until he found a new place. I think he moved one more time after that. He had a rough time the last couple years.
-
Thank you for your reply I am glad you got to read it and you were taking care of him and I miss our little chats once in awhile. I just wish I could have visited him over the last year or two as we never really got to talk old times when he was in Toronto. I don't think he came back to Canada for many years now but we shared some interests over the years. Thanks again.
-
Sadly, hardly any posts in the month since "Betty's" death.
It's as if everybody is waiting for the site to go offline and disappear. That would be sad, but may well be inevitable.
-
Yes Robyn Jodie it may come to that. I think the Bots are still running things and Betty's sister may check in but I am not sure if she knows much about the site and Betty never said. I am sure the costs may still coe out of his bank or maybe not but I will end sometime. It has been a fun time for all and informative when Betty was looking after things and I wish I had lived closer and able to help look after things but that is how life goes sometimes. I have lost a few friends and co-workers over the last few years and it is hard to realize we all get older without seeing the reality of it until it is too late. I am thanking you all for coming here and enjoying what Betty created all those years ago. Many of you have also added to this wonderful site and I am sure Betty appreciated your contributions. I will close now and keep checking in until something happens in the future. Thanks again.
-
unfortunately, this site was not as easy as looked and betty ran it very well, however when the monies runs out this site will disappear and nothing can be done to save it.It will be a shame but that is life
-
Betty's sis here..... I will keep the site going, so please continue to enjoy is as you always did. Betty would've wanted it that way.
-
thank you Bettys sister, hope this site will continues as a memory of betty
-
Thank youi for that Betty's sister. Do you have another name we can call you or are you comfortable with us just saying Betty's sister. I am fine either way it is up to you. I have not checked in here too recently having been a little busy with family issues but I will keep checking as often as I can. I considered Betty a friend and we conversed as often as time would allow. I do miss our chats and the helpful hints he gave me to keep my own computer running problem free. I sure wish his last few years could have been as great as his previous ones in the entertainment business and his computer business. I think the fire effected him more than he let on and he lost a lot of stuff he loved and his work / play life suffered a bit with that and his health issues. Sure hope he is very happy in the after life.
-
come on girls!
if we don't start posting again the site will will probably just fade into oblivion
Betty would not have wanted that I'm sure
I know we're all hurting but let's do it for Betty!
-
maybe if I repost some old stuff that has dropped of the board we can get people re-engaged again!
