I couldn't resist trying to blow up the pix & enhance them to see if it really is a boy. Still can't say for sure. The face & legs look boyish enough. But it appears he's wearing pigtails. Even in the hippie days of boys with long hair, it would be rare to have it that long at that age.

In the first photo (seated) - typical BOY posture legs not close together or crossed - short hem line - revealing who knows what ?

I remember one of my youthful Halloween 'Trick-or-Treat" excursions dressed in a skirt and blouse and my mom telling me that
if I was going to wear that get up to observe protocol bending over and reaching for things and when sitting to keep the legs
together or cross them like the Catholic nuns would chide the girls to cross the legs and close the gates to hell !
All of course unless you had ruffled frilly panties you really want to put on display ! LOL !
