When i was young (8-14) my older sister was making dresses for her self and friends. I would often be asked to put one on so that she could pin them up to do the hem. I remember she made several bridesmaid dresses for a friends wedding and for a couple of them i stood in to get the length right. I was reminded of this when browsing the web and found these patterns. I remember my sister having lots of these and even then thinking that the "girls" on them all looked like boys.

Wow! Assuming from what you said that you didn't Photoshop any of these, the girls DO look like boys; and the styles are really cute. I only wish the pictures were larger. I saved and expanded them a little (about 50% -- from about 200 px wide to 300 px wide) but that's about the limit -- even in a line drawing you can't add detail that isn't in the original.

My mother used me as a dress model for about 7 or eight dresses she was making for a girl cousin of mine. I had to wear a petticoat for a few of the dresses and a girls slip underneath the other dresses. Even though I've always thought of myself as TS and had been dressed a number of times in the past by my mother and sisters I absolutely hated having to be a dress model. Around the three or four years I was used as a dress model I had an aunt that forced me to wear girls clothes when I got my boy clothes dirty. Man, was I ever embarrassed!
I've often wondered where the petticoat came from because my sisters never wore petticoats when they were much younger. My mother never let my father know that she used me.

Sorry to deceive, i found these on the web, it seems they are photo shopped. if you search for simplicity pattern 5859 you will find an original. Still we can dream. The bit about being a dressmakers dummy is all true though.
