Title: Footed PJs
Post by: sissybaby34 on June 11, 2014, 06:02:33 AM
As a lover of footed PJs I am always on the lookout for a good new supplier. I know the weather is now a lot warmer but winter will be back sooner than we want it! You can imagine how happy I was when I found these for £14.99 on a couple of well know web selling sites. How cute are they? and they do them up to XL 6'3" Tall.

I was lucky right after the fire to get 3 of them from Amazon suppliers for around $14.99-$16.99 each. 2 pink ones with patterns, & 1 solid very light pink one. One was in girls size 14 which is slightly snug but still comfortable with plenty of room in the bottom, & 2 in girls size 16 which are a little too loose but wearable.

I should have been bored with them by now & needed new ones, but I'm not. Since my COPD I'm afraid to dress up too much in case I have a breathing/medical emergency. So I usually just sleep in sweatpants & a sweatshirt in cold weather, & T-shirt with shorts in warm weather. In the daytime, because I live in a multi-unit converted mansion, I have to worry about people/neighbors knocking at my door almost every day. With the COPD, it's too much effort & struggle to hurry up to change into something acceptable just to answer the door.

My dressing up times with sleepers, dresses, & other stuff is limited to only late at night or overnight when I'm gonna stay up & awake. It's the least likely time someone would knock at my door. But only at times when my breathing is extra good, so I'm less likely to have an emergency. Even on a good day getting dressed up can be a labored effort with lots of heavy breathing or gasping for air.

I don't get too bored with them, because on an average week I may only get a chance to dress up a couple times a week. For almost a month now my breathing has been extra bad. Just going to the bathroom, trying to make a meal, shower, bath, or dressing in anything simple causes me to desperately gasp for air. I only change clothes once a day now, & sleep in whatever I wear in the day. I find even wearing pretty girl's shorts & a top pleasant when I have a chance... anything quick & easy to get in & out of is preferred with COPD.

With my breathing, I find I breathe better cool with low humidity. I have to run my AC even on cooler nights now just to keep the humidity down low, & keep it cool enough to make my breathing bearable. I keep my heat turned down pretty low in winters to save on heat costs, so I must be used to it cooler too. Even before COPD, I could easily handle the cold, but not when it gets in the upper 80s F... esp. around here when it gets as humid as a swamp or steam room.

The last time I wore a sleeper was in early May. Wore them a lot in the winter on nights if I was breathing fair... they're so easy to get in & out of with little effort.

Sleepers are pretty much out of season now with summer coming up. I'd think they'd be hard to come by this time of the year, but if you can find them now, they'd probably be on sale. The catch with trying to find them in adult sizes online these days is many call them "footed pajamas" or "footed romper" instead of "footed sleepers" so you have to do a search under many terms to find them.

Footed PJ arrived today, and it is very nice for the money. It is very warm here in the UK at the moment so it will have to be packed away until cooler weather arrives. In my opinion if you are thinking of ordering it is good value for money and the service is excellent.

I'm a big fan of footed Pj's, I have worn them since I was in my teens.

I always bought the cheapest I could find, until this past winter I bought my first expensive pair, the only reason I bought them was because they were on sale.

They are made of chenille fleece, I got them at Jumpin jammers, they have thick fleece on the inside and outside.

This winter was the first time in years when I didn't have to double my sleepers or wear long johns on the below zero nights, they are so warm I had to stop wearing them a few months ago.

When I went back to my old skinny pj's I was cold and had to double, then I found a deal on amazon for thinner chenille, they are just as luxurious but not as super warm.

I rarely miss a night wearing a sleeper, the only time I don't is when my house is too hot and with a brick house those nights are rare.

I keep the heat low and wear footed pj's, not because I have to but because I want to.
If you ever get the chance to try sleepers made of this stuff get them you won't be sorry you paid a little more.

Footed sleepers were not such a big thing in my childhood or youth here in the UK. Its only in the last few years they have made an appearance and become widely available. Some are "just for fun" and are of very poor quality. But others are very good indeed. My main source is Cuddlz, they are well made and fit well. These days i spend many a Night in nappies, mostly disposable but sometimes i go with a traditional terry square (kite fold) and plastic pants. The addition of a sleeper finishes it off nicely.

I bought 2 pair off amazon recently they were small 2X, I figured I could take them in if I wanted a nicer fit, but being no one ever sees them but the occasional UPS guy if they get here early, I left them alone.

I got my first pair at 13 I wore them so often I wore them out, then I had to wait until I was 16 to find them in local stores, they became popular everytime there was a spike in energy prices, parents bought them for their kids and kept the heat lower to save money on fuel.

The bad part about the last sleepers, I bought, was they charged almost half of what I bought the sleepers for in shipping, but at 32 they were still a deal because I see them for over 80.

I just checked they have more in small 1x and 2x wide for $25 and $12 shipping these are some of the nicest feeling warm sleepers I have ever owned.

Here's the ones I have. I don't have a picture of the solid pink one. But it's identical to the second one, except there's no pattern & it's all pink.

I like those Betty. Footed pyjamas are a favourite of mine too. Luckily being in the UK, I can usually wear them all year round. Here is a sample from my collection.

If you want nice simple sleepers for under $25., sportsman's guide has nice sleepers, the only problem most have, is they want cute patterns these come in only a few colors and now I see they have a blue snowflake style.

On cold nights I have to double these, I love the thick feeling it's like wearing a diaper all over your body.

Before I got my new sleepers I wore this kind, one pair I have I have used every night for more than 7 years, they hold up very well, while not the softest they do last, the material reminds me of the type used way back in the 80's light fleece on the outside and coarse on the inside.

I recommend buying L or XL if your tall, I buy L just to make room for my sensitive foot, works out well for me. http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/cb/guide-gear-footie-pajamas.aspx?a=302608

The drop down gives you your choice of styles and sizes they sell out of these most years by the time it gets cold.

Earlier this year i bought these in my size. Privatina are a strange place to deal with as it takes a little working out how to pay etc. Once i worked it out and used paypal it only took jusy over a week for them to arrive. They are awesome and very well made. I like the rear zip so even if you do wake up to "go" it can be too late by the time you get the zip down!

I have seen the Privatina, site I have heard mixed reviews of people not getting what they ordered, it's good to hear you had no real problems buying off them.

They have sleepers that look so thick and fluffy, I will buy one some day.

They are quite nicely priced they would be nice if they had zippers instead of buttons.

I see they have a big size range also it fits people who are very tall which you don't often find in footed Pj's.

I would buy some of those, but I have fallen in love with those under the sea plush footed Pj's, the blue ones in my link from amazon.

They are just a few dollars more than I paid for the other kind, it's just that they are way wider being that they are 2x wide, that doesn't bother me because I hate tight fitting anything.

I'm skinny and small I don't need anything large I just like being super comfortable in my cloths, who sees me in Pj's, it's more important for me to be comfortable.

I'm thinking about selling all my backups and buying all of those plush, so far the one pair I have been wearing, has been washed and dried many times and they feel so great and are holding up well.
