Title: Ballerina for Christmas
Post by: Betty on December 15, 2014, 12:47:08 AM
Every year, even if on a tight budget, I try to get a little something for myself for Christmas. I stumbled across this beautiful little pink ballet outfit for only $14.99 in little girls size 16, with free shipping. So I ordered it.

It's a Chinese import through amazon though, so I probably won't see it by Christmas. It most likely won't arrive until January. I haven't bought any clothes since I got laid off. Lucky I bought it when I did a couple days ago. I noticed the price just went up to $22.99 for it today.

I already have pink & white tights to go with it. Tights stretch quite a bit so I got 3-packs of each color cheap in girls size 12-14 a couple years ago, & they fit me fine.

Oooo! It's so pretty! I can't wait!

I only had 1 very plain leotard/tutu that I bought years ago just after the fire. So I really needed one.

Oh Betty,
I am so jealous of you, that is a very pretty ballet outfit. I hope you can post some pics of you wearing it after it arrives.  I also hope it comes before Christmas as you need something new from Santa for all your hard work this year. I have a few pink tights and two nice pink leotards but no Tutu to go with them. I did have a nice skating outfit a long time ago but it may have gone out in a purge some time ago as I have not seen it in a long time. Wish we could get together over the holidays to celebrate but my passport has recently expired so I won't be over the border during the holidays. I was planning on cross border shopping as I need some new Olga Scoops panties (my favourite) from Maceys. They have some wonderful lace around the waist and legs just like little girl panties and I can't seem to find them in Canada now.
Stay well and enjoy the holidays Betty,
Angela M...

Just got a message that it was shipped yesterday. Amazon claims ETA around Jan 18-25. the shipper claims the ETA at around Jan. 29th.

What are they doing, sending it in a small canoe with a couple Chinese guys rowing? Even slow freighter boats make it to the west coast from China in 4-7 days. 3-10 days sitting in Customs, then 2-5 days to make it to my door from there. So it should have been 9-22 days to get here by slow freighter boat, not 32-42 days.

BTW, never order from China from a week before their New Year, to a month after it (Feb 19 this year, Jan. 31 last year). Most Chinese shippers & stores don't deal with orders or ship during that time. To them it's like Thanksgiving vacation, Christmas vacation, & New Year's celebrations all rolled up into a month long holiday. Yeah, many of them work during that time, but they don't really bother to do much. It's over a month of partying, celebrating, hangovers, relaxing, shopping, & loafing.

Free shipping? If I selected standard, 2 day, or overnight shipping, shipping would have cost more than the outfit did.
