Hi,
Here's another one.

Nice find Andy, by the way I have family in Colwyn Bay. Who knew I could have had relatives in this concert party.

I found this image on an eBay auction a number of years ago. Dudley Manlove was a close friend of producer/director Ed Wood and is probably best known for his role in Plan 9 From Outer Space. For many years, however, he worked the vaudeville circuit as a young female impersonator. This photo was taken when he was 7 years old.

Another old-time photo. This one is of Arthur Trimble in his recurring role of Buster Brown in the 1920s. His costar is Doreen Turner as Mary Jane. The Buster Brown shorts were, of course, based on the newspaper comic strip and were produced from 1925 to 1929 when Arthur was between 8 and 12 years old. Doreen was two years younger than he was.

Thanks Lindsey, I know of Trimble but Manlove as a child actor is something I was totally unaware of. I'd love to see other pictures of him.

Well, this looks like a boy to me. What think?

And I bet he's still wearing cute short pleated tartan skirts to this day ;-)

Hi Ace,
I was thinking this was probably a kilt although it certainly looks like an outfit a little girl would wear to school. Or a little boy nowadays I guess.

The outfit looks plenty boyish to me, but don't kid yourself. Sadly, a lot of parents (and maybe school administrators) would still go ballistic if a little boy showed up at school in an outfit like that.
2015 - One girl got her senior picture left out of the school's yearbook because she wore a tuxedo.
