Did any little boys out there play with their sisters Barbies and dress Ken in the girls clothes. I was getting older when my sister got Ken and even she did not play with them too often. She did have a three foot tall girl doll that my mother won in a raffle and she always sat on my sisters bed. I remember once taking the doll to my room and taking the clothes off and putting her in a baby diaper and plastic panties. I wished that I was that small again and could dress that way too. I took a photo of her with my little box camera and black & white film only but don't remember what became of the photo. It was probably on a roll of film with holiday photo's and I would hide it away so my parents would not see it. I still have a shoebox with some old black & white photo's taken by me when I was about 11 or 12 but never found that photo.

I just remembered seeing the American Pickers show the other night and there was a woman with a house full of dolls and she had a three foot tall doll just like my sister had dressed in the same green dress and white pinafore. Wish I could find one like that myself.

Back when I was real little, my sister had a large doll that had pretty blond curls, pretty panties, ruffled socks, & the prettiest frilly dress around. Way to small for me to get into, but I remember many times wishing I was that doll. My sister never played with it, but it fascinated me.

Yes isn't it funny that we would have loved to get something like that for ourselves but our sisters never played much with them. My mother kept my sisters closet full of pretty girly dresses and crinolines and frilly panties and tights but she was not much of a girly girl mostly wearing shorts and T shirt in summer or pants and plain blouses in winter. My mother would make her dress up when we went visiting and all our girl cousins were dressed the same in the late 50's and 60's, short dresses and frilly lace edged panties, ruffled sock and black shiny Mary Jane shoes. I would always try to think of games to play where I could get a look at their panties just wishing we could change clothes and yes I did that once with a cousin. Me wearing her short velvet dress and frilly petticoat and frilly ankle socks and shiny black Mary Jane shoes and her in my pants, shirt, cowboy vest and hat. My sister went and told our mothers who scolded me and sent me to change and stay in my room. I was blushing bright red but afterwards I lay on my bed thinking of how nice the panties and petticoat were on my legs and the soft velvet dress. I was teased quite a bit after that by my sister and cousins but my father was mad and mother too.

Getting back to Barbie dolls... Who remembers putting Barbie's clothes on Ken just to see what he'd look like?

I remember dressing Ken in Barbie's clothes. Didn't have a sister but had 3 girl cousins, one
my age and two younger. So even as I got older there were always dolls to play with at their house.
I was their favorite boy cousin because I would play dolls, play dress up and play house with them.
And yes, Ken was very cute dressed as Barbie!

I gave my nephew a G.I. Joe for his birthday many years ago. He always wanted to be like that toy and often told us so. After he had it for awhile my niece got a hold of it and dressed it in some doll clothes (not sure if it was Barbie clothes). She then showed it to her brother saying something like , "you want to be like G.I. Joe"?
From what I was told my nephew went ballistic and never played with that toy again.

I remember seeing a photo on the Net of a Dungeon scene with Barbie and Ken dolls. Ken was tied to the rack and Bondage Barbie was whipping his butt. Not sure if I saved that pic but it was a good one. Something I would have done with Barbie and Ken dolls if I had them in late my teens.

I was re-reading this post and Betty and Sisiam remember putting Barbie clothes on Ken but I do not remember doing that. I think it was because my sister did not have a Ken doll and neither did her friends. Not sure why but I bet I would have thought of doing it if there had been one available. She and her friends played with their many Barbies until they were about 14 years old but you do not see girls that age today playing with anything other than their phones or boyfriends.
