I thought I'd start this up again here, it is always a useful source for future reference.
As a start, I just caught an old re-run of the Brady's. In this episode Cindy gets it into her mind that she is a Shirley Temple impressionist and dresses up in a really cute Dress & petticoats.
It was one of the later series so she was quite a bit older (all the guys had those horrible permed hair styles!) but still wore the dress short showing her petties off just like a sissy.
I managed to record the scene, so when I get time I'll upload to youtube and post the link here for everyone.
-
I always thought they missed the boat with the Brady Bunch. Three boys, three girls, same ages, same sizes. Lots of crossdressing possibilities there.
-
When I was a boy I loved watching "Make Room For Daddy" (or "The Danny Thomas Show" as it was often called). They always dressed Linda in wonderfully flouncy cloths with lots of petticoats and often shots of her ruffled sissy panties. I often dreamed that I was her brother, Rusty and that I sometimes got to dress like her. Sadly, a cross dressing scene never happened on the series. But I have lived the dream and now have adult size outfits that are similar to dressing like Angela Cartwright on the show. It's such fun to be a closet sissy!

-
Oh yeah. They always dressed Danny's youngest daughter in the prettiest dresses! That was Angela Cartwright, who later played Penny Robinson in a childhood favorite, Lost in Space. I was a very confused little boy. Had a crush on her dresses, & Billy Mumy at the same time. If they would have put him in one of those dresses, I would have been in heaven.
I believe the show went by both names. The Danny Thomas Show, & Make Room For Daddy. But I can't remember which one came first.
I used to also like Romper Room episodes too. Many of the girls were dressed in some pretty elaborate, frilly, pretty outfits. Even when the girls were in pants, shorts, or rompers, most of them were cool ruffled "bubble" styles. Frequently the girls had short hair styles so I could think they were a boy.
Back in those days, Romper Room & Captain Kangaroo also ran some cool but bizarre cartoons like Tom Terrific & Popeye. Loved the Captain's toy choo-choo train he had running through the place too. Up until the fire, I had an antique Gilbert American Flyer toy train (from the late 1940s that I restored myself) & huge LGB toy train set up in my bedroom year round. They ran around the room, & even under the end tables & bed. They went choo-choo & smoked just like real steam locos. I had to step over train tracks or a train just to get to bed. They were built so solid, even if I did step on the tracks, it wouldn't break them.
So strange to be playing with a boy's toy trains with the cats in my bedroom while wearing a dress.
Lost them in the fire. I see many of the same or similar kinds of trains on e-bay... for someday when I'm rich. Maybe I can find some broken ones cheap again & restore them myself. Still love seeing pix & watching films of old steam locomotives.

Growing up I loved Small Wonder, YCDTOTV and Turkey TV. Here are a few of my favorite clips from YCDTOTV. I wish Turkey TV was available online, I seem to remember one or two cross-dressing clips, the Small Wonder Eps. Was the all time best. Enjoy!

You can jump right to the video at the desired time by adding the following string #t=minmsecs to the end of the URL. For example, for the first video above, use the url:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k0WUWq_lnQgA#t=6m26s
This avoids loading the entire video to get to the desired time.

Canadian & later Nickolodian TV show, You Can't Do That on TV (mostly through the 1970s). They had more kids in crossdressing & baby dressing scenes than any other TV show ever did.
-
Any reason why or just because?

Hi,
Like Betty and, I'm sure, many of the board members, when the Snappy program came out I was very pleased as it gave me the opportunity to capture images from the many videos I had created. If I've done this properly, when I'm done you should see 15 posts, each with a capture from You Cant Do That on Television as well as a clip from Turkey TV and Small Wonder. This would be number one.

And number 15.
Remarkable that I did this successfully. It helped immensely when Betty said to use 500 pixels by 600 pixels as a guide in IR Fanview. I always had a lot of trouble resizing until today using that formula. This last clip is Jamie from Small Wonder in the second long crossdressing sequence which had the added bonus of his friend Reggie also dressing up as well as the next door neighbor Harriett. The three of them and Vicky all dressed identically. Be still my beating heart. I would be happier if the quality was better. I've seen a lot of graphic enhancement programs but I haven't really found one to fix the captures from old VHS tapes. Some captures are better than others and that was when I was lucky enough to capture a scene on a relatively newer tape. The more times the tape had been recorded the lower the quality. Anyway I hope everyone enjoyed this little Sunday afternoon presentation.

Yes it is. She is enjoying Jamie's predicament very much. Is it just me or are the boys dresses shorter than the girls are?
Anyway the captures are all great. Thanks Andy for the extra treat.

Imagine if we could have written episodes for these shows.
-
1. Suite Life of Zack and Cody
2. Small Wonder
3. Silver Spoons
4. YCDTOTV

-
1. Cody is forced to be Tyreesha, and Zack doesn't interrupt him. The judges decide that Tyreesha and Rebecca tied. London Tipton is annoyed, and so she decides that Tyreesha/Cody and Rebecca will compete in a girly pageant.
-
2. Small Wonder
Harriet's mother encourages the Lawsons to sign Vicki up for ballet so she can fit in with girls her own age.
Unfortunately Mr. Lawson spills some vodka on Vicki which makes her circuitry malfunction. Who can replace Vicki for the week leading up to the ballet recital??
Jamie Lawson of course!!!
-
3. Ricky is officially even with Jason Bateman. Despite dancing with that bully, everthing turned out okay.
Except that the bully's sister was at the party, and she recognized Ricky. Now Ricky must entertain her and her friends at her weekend slumber party
-
You Can't Do That On Television is tough cause theres so many episodes that involve this theme.
-

-
Cody Martin decides to expose himself to London Tipton. He admits that he is not really Tyreesha. London gets even more envious about Cody/Tyreesha looking more attractive than her and decides that Tyreesha and Rebecca should compete in a ballet competition.
-
Cody plans on punching his twin Zack Martin in the face for getting into this mess, but before he can he is forced onto a bus with Rebecca and the other pageant contestants. Cody felt like he would never get a reprieve, until his mother walked onto the bus.
"Thank you, Tyreesha Martin!" said Cody's mother. Cody knew he was doomed at that point. Mom was busy trying to defeat her arch nemesis and it looked like she just won.

Andy,
do you know the episode title for this little gem or which season/episode number it was? May be able to track down a better copy.

Hey bikini wearer,
thanks for that. Yeah I too like the season 1 xdress episode. I have uploaded the doctor sequence to youtube, the link was on this thread at the other board, but here it again in case you missed it. Priceless :-[

Im working on a story about the second episode of Suite Life of Zack and Cody. I may have part 1 done by tomorrow night.
-
Hey, DoIHaveTo..., why'd you change your name? It's too long if we want to reply to refer to when replying to you in a long thread. I liked it better when it was Tutulovers. Tutus are prettier & more sissy like than Bikinis anyway.
-
Hey Betty,
I'd prefer the Tutulovers username too. I'm gonna try and change it ASAP.

Here is the video for the other Small Wonder dress up scene, unfortunately there is a goofy water mark in the video. But, the scene with the 4 vickies in dresses and dancing is priceless.

Hi,
Found another version without the watermark. I like the first show better myself, I think Jamie was cuter and he seems to be a little pudgy in the second one. The actor who played Jamie, Jerry Supiran, has not had a happy afterlife. He's 39 years old now, all his money is gone and he's homeless. Very sad.

Small Wonder Child Star Jerry SupiranBroke, Homeless, Lost Money To Stripper
Jun 01, 2012
By Radar Staff
Jerry Supiran, once a promising young star best known for his role on the 80s TV comedySmall Wonder, has spiraled into a vortex of poverty and homelessness, after a number of bad breaks took him from Hollywood's bright lights to sleeping under a bridge in central California.
“It’s been very tough,” said Jerry, in an exclusive interview with the new issue of the National Enquirer.
Jerry, now 39, who also appeared on shows including Little House on the Prairie, Newhartand Highway to Heaven, said his bad luck began more than two decades ago.
“When I was 18, I dated a stripper and she took what was left of my trust fund; then, one of my advisers stole a half-million dollars from me."
The former child star says he's "worked at different steakhouses for the last 15 years, but two years ago … waslaid off from a restaurant in Henderson, Nevada, due to the economy."
Jerry, who played the role of Jamie Lawson, says he hasn't "been able to find a job since" 2010.
“I had to move back to central California where my brother lives with his family," he said. "And while he helps me with hot meals and a shower, he doesn’t have the room for me to stay there.
"So I either sleep at the homeless shelter I volunteer at, or under a local bridge,” said Jerry, who uses Facebook to chat up his former TV co-stars.
Down, but not out, Jerry says he's banking on another gig in the food service industry to put an end to hisfinancial drought.
“I’m just looking for a break," he said.

Hi Taylor, thanks for the link.
Andy thanks too, I actually found your link after Tutulover gave me the season/episode number. I too still prefer the season one episode, you can actually feel the burning his face must have endured, whilst watching :-[
I did my clip of season one from the dvd release last year (?), didn't actually buy them, managed to track down a copy on p-bay. The resolution wasn't terrific but better than anything else around at the time.
I'm not sure if they got up to season 3 with the dvd's but i'll have a look.

Unfortunately Mr. Lawson spills some vodka on Vicki which makes her circuitry malfunction. Who can replace Vicki for the week leading up to the ballet recital??
Jamie Lawson of course!!!
Vicki being a super fast and strong robot could easily overcome Jamie.
I think these episodes could have been fun:
Vicki babysits Jamie and taking it literally, dresses him and treats him like a baby.
Vicki wanting to try sports(baseball, football, etc.) but knowing she'd give away being a robot if she played, takes Jamie's place on the team. Taking his uniform and forcing him to take her place in the bleachers disguised as her, while making him the hero of the team with her skills.

All the preceding "BRUNO.JPG" clips are from the (DVD) movie "THE DRESS CODE" mentioned previously in this thread.
The movie may have been initially titled "Bruno".
I have the movie and it is delightful.
It can be found for a very small token on Ebay.

Yes, I explained that in the fisrt upload, did you see the first six pictures?

Yes after going back - saw the 6 pics on previous page and then the "FINE PRINT" - same size font used on my Victoria's Secret finest !
The cast of the movie were outstanding and confusing since some are now in todays drama and sitcoms and playing totally different roles.
Would have watched it straight thru except forgot to wear a diaper and had to take a potty break - pause and resume happens everytime
with movies near or over two hours !

Our local abc station started broadcasting another channel called 16/2, I get to enjoy make room for daddy every morning about 5 am.
Right now I'm watching Maude but thru out the day we here get to watch many old TV shows.
Nostalgic TV I love it
-
Off the air from an antenna, a local NBC broadcasts old shows on 2.2, but MRFD isn't one of them. Other cool stuff though. Good thing I still like old stuff or my $7.99/mo Netflix subscription wouldn't be worth it. They don't carry much new movies or shows except for stuff that sucks.
2 years without Cable or Satellite. So all my TV is either local channels off an antenna or what I watch online. Not missing much. With Directv I figured I was only watching 18 out of all the channels I got throughout a year... and some of those were local channels I can get free with an ordinary antenna anyway.
-
I don't miss giving money to cable or satellite
When I run out my internet contract, I'm going to try a hot spot, the internet where I live is oversold, it was OK in the beginning but they started giving it away, everyone kicked there phone and cable and use the internet for TV and net 24 hours of the day.
I rarely get a decent connection good enough to watch a 2 min video on youtube.
Half the time I can barely get my email to open without re opening the page, I get a better free connection at MickyD's,I only wish it would reach as far as my house.
-
Frontier isn't over selling. They're capping your data/broadband. That is where they will deliver close to the speed you pay for but after you use it a little, you reach a preset monthly limit, & then they slow your broadband down like crazy. Or they give you the speed you pay for for a few seconds... enough to load a page fast enough, but a complex page like your mail, video, podcasts, & music, which need a connection longer, they slow you down after just a few seconds. It's deliberate.
They'll pass most speed tests if you test it, because they will deliver fast enough for a few seconds.
Frontier is notorious for bandwidth capping since 2010. They never deliver you what they promised & for what you actually paid for. I'd have everybody in the area boycott them & get another provider.
Try Verizon DSL instead. They advertise slower speeds, but are consistent, so deliver close to the speeds they promise with (so far) no capping. They're cheaper too. So in the long run they are faster because they don't cap, or slow you down the more you use. I was on their lowest, cheapest tier plan for over 10 years for $24.95/mo. 700mbs, but usually consistently got 900mbs to 1.1gbs. That's fast enough to watch netflix, or you-tube on their lower resolution settings. It's also fast enough to download a couple of your favorite TV shows or movies from emule, torrents, or the usenet overnight while you sleep.
Even streaming video from Justin TV, ADTHE tv, & WWitv work at that speed. Veetle used to work & was my favorite streaming TV site, but they've changed. You need a real high speed connection for them now, & there's a high latency if you don't live close to the streaming broadcaster, which cause it to malfunction. In an effort to upgrade & improve the place, they screwed it up... probably another case of too much coke or crack circulating their tech offices again.
Recently I got up on their next tier plan. 3mbs for $34.99... and a phone included. So I may shut down my cell phone soon. I consistently get 2.7-3.1mbs. But Veetle still won't work. Haven't tried to plug in a phone to use yet. They're didn't raise my bill yet. They're still charging me $24.95. So I'm keeping my mouth shut. I can even watch you tube at 720p when available at 2.7-3.1mbs. because it's steady with no caps. No contract for Verizon DSL. I just pay by the month.
Did you know when the RIAA & MPAA tries to bust & sue people for downloading music & film, Verizon is the only isp in north America who refused to give them their user/customer info without a warrant? Verizon is the only one who didn't freely offer up customer/user info to them or the government without a warrant. And they spent millions in court to fight for that right. Yeah, they can still bust you with a warrant, but verizon still protects your privacy if they don't have a legal warrant for it.
I don't think it's good or healthy to disconnect yourself from mainstream communications this day & age. Are you at least picking up your local TV channels with an antenna for news & stuff? Was your connection still fast enough to stream netflix (go to your account settings & set it for the lowest bandwidth setting)?
I'd shoot for a cheap DSL provider. 700mbs-1gbs isn't much. It doesn't do as well as it did a year ago because sites & streams have gotten more bandwidth hungry, but it's still usable.
If you don't live too far from a free wifi place, you can try a separate more sensitive & powerful USB or ethernet wifi connection with a decent directional antenna to pick it up at home. But beware, if they catch someone using too much of their bandwidth, they can cut you off.
-
Most of the problem here, I think, is that Frontier and a cable company are the only wired providers.
I hear nothing at all good about the cable company, I can't think of the name of it off hand but it's the one with Infinity or something like that.
When I moved here in 04 all I had was a dial up with directv for my tv, but after a bit I got dsl from frontier and it worked fantastic for years.
Then frontier started pushing cheap promotions $14.00 a month , people up in this secluded area I live in hopped on because it was cheaper to get a bundle from frontier than keep directv or cable, so everyone is on it.
Would you give a cable company $100+ a month, or $14 for everything, and that is what everybody did.
The only lines in the area where I live in belong to Frontier, I'm too far from any wifi hot spot behind good size mountains, I get better faster connections at Mcdonalds, I spend a few hours there everyday buying and selling cars and car parts, this keeps my brain alive because it is something I have done since I was a teenager.
I have been told that Verizon has done a lot of tower work behind the mountain where I live, when I get over this flu I'm going to check into getting one of there hot spots if I have to I keep frontier until my contract runs out next summer, and take on the added expense of the hotspot and use it just here at home.
I'll keep using Mcdonads during the day and only use the hot spot, I have 2 computers so I could use one on the hotspot exclusively for home.
From Betty:
Oh no! Another one with the flu! Everybody around me has caught it. I'm the only one I know locally who hasn't caught it yet. The flu going around here is an extra bad one. In my condition, if i catch it, it will put me in the hospital or kill me. People who even had their flu shot have caught it. I guess being unemployed most of the time has the advantage that I don't have sick people breathing & coughing on me all day, every day. Been getting some work around weekends but it's not much.
Get well soon.
Good thing I've always tried to keep Betty's low bandwidth. The servers don't load as fast as the fastest fios connections can handle, but on a slow connection, it loads faster than most. In the 90s when I had very low image size & story part limits, people with high speed whined. But I'm sure the half of our visitors who were still on dialup, even if they didn't understand why I had the limits, appreciated that Betty's ran well on their slow connection. I could never understand people who made high bandwidth consumption sites that only half their users could use, or for the other half were just too painfully slow on their connection. I always felt that everybody should be able to connect to Betty's no matter what connection they had.
5% of our visitors visit here from their phone. Some visit on a phone wireless plan, or a satellite connection... most of those plans have speeds that are only slightly better than a dialup connection. But for some towns or rural areas, it or dialup their only option. Many people from other countries or who lived in the city all their life don't realize that most of the USA & Canada are still rural, farming, or wilderness areas (Where do they think all their food comes from). Indeed, even in NY state, which is more that half the area of the UK, is mostly rural areas, small towns, farmland, & wilderness. The largest City is NYC. Far on the other end is the 2nd largest in the state, Buffalo. In between are a few smaller cities, Rochester, Syracuse, & Albany. The rest are just small towns.
On an average day, about 1/4 of our visitors are on some kind of data or satellite plan just a little faster than dialup (and expensive), or still on dialup, because there's nothing else available or affordable at home or work.
Car parts? You must be a motorhead. I used to do my own car work & restoration in my day. My pride was a 70 limo, & 70 Pontiac Catalina that I restored myself, including rebuilding the engines. The last car project was a pretty white VW Cabrio (convertible) that I restored the body, & turbocharged the engine because it was way too underpowered. Due to budget restraints those days are gone. Sold my old Ford Broco 4WD truck after the fire (I fixed that one up myself too). I sold it for more than I paid for it. My primary vehicle these days is my fold-up, 20", 1 speed bicycle.

Hi,
I’m back with a few more Snappys. The first three are from Turkey Television and are additional pix of Vance Vain’s little brother in one of the dresses for which he traded all of his, and his brother’s, pants, much to Vance’s chagrin. I don’t know who played the little brother but Vance was Kevin Kubusheskie from You Can Do That on Television.
The next 8 are from the Boy Meets World episode entitled Chick Like Me. In which both Ben Savage and Rider Strong dress as girls for a school project. As I remember, the class had read the book Black Like Me about the reporter who dyed his skin dark to pass as a black person and experience discrimination first hand. The boys decide to see discrimination against women first hand themselves. Of the two, Rider is certainly the more attractive girl.
Chick Like Me (31 Jan. 1997)
In order to get a better understanding of how girls think, Cory and Topanga disguise Shawn as a girl and arrange a date for him.
I found videos for the episode and there are links below.

Hi,
Thought I would share some more Snappys today.
“Member of The Wedding” was a novel by Carson McCullers which was turned into a Broadway play in 1950 with Julie Harris, Ethel Waters and Brandon DeWilde, all three of whom reprised their roles for the movie version in 1952. This is the plot as told on Wikipedia.
“The novel takes place over a few days in late August. It tells the story of 12-year-old tomboy Frankie Addams, who feels disconnected from the world; in her words, an "unjoined person." Frankie's mother died when she was born, and her father is a distant, uncomprehending figure. Her closest companions are the family's African American maid, Berenice Sadie Brown, and her six-year-old cousin, John Henry West. She has no friends in her small Southern town, and dreams of going away with her brother and his bride-to-be on their honeymoon in the Alaskan wilderness.
The novel explores the psychology of the three main characters, and is more concerned with evocative settings than with incident. Frankie does, however, have a brief and troubling encounter with a soldier. Her hopes of going away disappointed — her fantasy destroyed — a short coda reveals how her personality has changed. It also recounts the fate of John Henry West, and Berenice Sadie Brown's future plans.”
What interests us on the board is that during the course of the play, once Frankie has decided to go away with the newlyweds, her little cousin John Henry falls heir to her collection of fancy show costumes, one of which he dons and remains in for the rest of the show.
The first few pictures are from the movie. The rest of them are from a 1982 television version that starred Pearl Bailey, Dana Hill and Benjamin Bernouy. This was aired live and I don’t think it’s ever been repeated, nor have these pix been posted on the web.

You Can't Do That On Television is tough cause theres so many episodes that involve this theme.
I hate that I never got to see the show, just clips on youtube. I love the frilly little pink dresses a couple of the boys wore.
I really like the situation where the boy teases the girl about her dress making her look fat. So she drags him away by the ear, changes clothes with him, and then drags him to show his friends how he looks in the dress.
Too bad there aren't any show like it on now.

Hi,
I’ve got another batch of Snappys today. I’ve spoken about this show before; for years it was my grail, something I had heard about and missed and was desperate to find. It’s the “Miss Belle” episode from the British television series, “Journey to the Unknown.” When the series started in September of 1968 I watched it each week. Back then I also went to the theater. When the theater season started I would go through the new plays and decide what I wanted to see and order tickets. Consequently on Thursday October 24, 1968, I found myself at the theater seeing “Her First Roman” with Richard Kiley and Leslie Uggams, a musical version of Caesar and Cleopatra. Ironically I remember that it was a rainy night and my Mother tried to talk me out of going but I was determined. Imagine my dismay when the next day I was reading the newspaper and there was an article discussing Miss Belle. Not a complimentary one either as I remember, the reviewer clearly thought it was a sick concept and this seemed to be the general response. The series ran on US television only the once with no repeats and I don’t believe it was repeated in the UK either. After reading the review I got out the TV Guide and this was the blurb I read:
“Miss Belle,” a psychological drama of repression. For seven years spinster Belle Weston has devoted her life to raising her sister’s child. Belle is determined the youngster will be a proper young lady—despite the fact that “Roberta” is a boy.
Be still my beating heart!
Belle was played by Barbara Jefford, Roberta by Kim Burfield and Drake, who tries to save Roberta, or Bobby as he calls him, was played by George Maharis. Kim made only a few other appearances and then appears to have left the profession. “Miss Belle” is based on a short story by Charles Beaumont, “Miss Gentilbelle” that appeared in a collection of his short stories, “The Hunger and other Stories. “I have heard rumors espoused that he based it on an incident in his early life. It was made into a short under that title by Tara Miele in 2000. A version of it was also filmed in 1961 under the title Ursula.
It took me years of searching before I found a 16mm version which I had transferred to VHS. The film had a red tint to it which you’ll notice in the clips. Anyone who can manipulate them into a better quality please feel free. I’ve only seen an occasional clip on the web but the episode is now on YouTube.

So, hope you enjoy Miss Belle as much I did.

Regarding the "reddening" --
This is quite common with older photos and movies. Apparently the problem is that the blueish (cyan) dyes used in the older color photos tended to fade with time. I have a number of 50+ year old photos in similar condition. This is one reason why experts used to advise using black and white rather than color photos for archival storage. As far as I know, a well-processed black/white photo will keep for (literally) hundreds of years -- check out Ebay for occasional prints from the mid 1800s. (By the way, these same experts are also claiming that the process used for "burning" home, as opposed to commercial, DVDs may have similar problems -- and have effective lifetime of only about 5 - 20 years).
Anyway, adding blue in a display program like IrfanView doesn't seem to help -- I tried it. The reason (I think) may be that the photo processors used the subtractive (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow) color scheme used by printers (which generally add black, too, for better outlines) rather than the additive (Red, Green, Blue) scheme generally used by computer displays. You might be able to rebalance the colors if you can find a tool to do it subtractively rather than additively.

I can very well imagine that that little boy in a dress was me. I wonder what it would be like being raised as a girl and not really realizing that one was a boy?

I used to love YCDTOT. That young boy that was wearing the pink frilly dress didn't know how absolutely lucky he was. Or maybe he did?

Regarding the reddening, as I enhance & try to color balance the image, I can see it also suffers from color degradation from this being a copy of a copy or a video tape too... you can see it by the faint horizontal bars in my enhanced version.
Also film, as well as photo paper... even in black & white, turn yellow or brown with age (brown is really just darkened yellow, yellow+black=brown). I'll bet the color & detail was much better on the film, if it still exists or ever existed. Lets not forget, color video taping did exist outside of TV studios since the late 60s. Betamax was available since the late 70s. At the time, the first betamax sold for $1400-$1500. U-matic video cassette recorders were around since the early 70s but were just as expensive. At the time, I opted to buy a used broken, color reel-to-reel video recorder to record & play our band videos. It & it's color camera were probably built in the late 1960s.
Needless to say, I fixed up the recorder, & it ran well, until VCRs became affordable.
So as old as the video looks, it may not have been filmed at all. Many masterpieces & fun stuff was lost because there was no film, & the tape got recorded over (like some old Dr. Who episodes), or no working machine exists anymore to play them. The only reason many YCDTOTV, & some old Dr. Who episodes still exist, is because people recorded them with their betamax or VHS when they were still being re-run on TV (Very old B&W Dr. Who was filmed, not taped).
Programs that can fix pictures need at least some information still intact to do a good job. As the blues & greens fade too much, the program can't make out for sure what was supposed to be pure white, or pale blue, green, or yellow anymore. Blueing, tends to add too much blue to whites & pale colors.

Hi Bettyl,
It took me many years but I found 2 16mm copies of this episode, at different times. The first one I had shipped directly to someone who transferred it to videotape and then shipped me back the reel and the videotape. Afterwards, when I found the other copy, I removed sections of the 16 mm film and had stills made from the individual frames. Both the 16mm films were red so subsequently the stills and the snappy's were as well.

Hi,
This is from the print ad campaign for The Christine Jorgenson Story. I think it was the first time I saw an actual, contemporary boy wearing a dress. Prior to this my only experience had been with photos of the very young Franklin Delano Roosevelt who really looked darling in his dresses. Don't think I went to see the film when it was at the movies but I did catch it a number of years later on cable television. And the one cross-dressing scene was out on youtube a while back but I haven't seen it of late. This is a link to IMDB which has a thumbnail of the poster from which this is taken. My first copy, I cut this section out for easy reference. The second copy I have kept intact.
http://www.imdb.com/media/rm2680856320/tt0065549
As mentioned previously, Trent Lehman was the boy in the photo but another boy, Eddie Frank played George as well and I don't know if he is the boy in this picture or if this is a third boy.

Hi,
Before I forget, Transboy, please repost the link to the new site. It's one of the posts that was lost when the database crashed.
Here are four screen captures from Everything But the Truth. I read about this instance of cross-dressing in the early 90's and put it on my list of wants. I found a 16mm version and had it transferred to videotape and subsequently made these Snappy's. It was very enjoyable when the on set photos of Tim relaxing in his dress, with and without wig, while reading an Archie comic I would like to own, were first posted.

Checked the site and was surprised to see an old image of The Bad Little School-boy I drew used by Transboy. I hadn't thought I ever released it then found it in the scraps section of my dA account. LOL
Anyhow, my favorite TC show crossdressing is the YCDTOT episode where the mom is telling the boy his sister was supposed to go with her, he was was supposed to go with his father and divided the clothes accordingly. But there was a mix up and he wound up with his mother. She then puts a bow in his hair and tells him to get to school ... we see he is wearing a dress.
Oh, how i wished that would happen to me. (Well, not the divorce but some clothing mix-up).

Thanks Andy. It was interesting to watch and see how they viewed transgender.
Sissy Demi, I found the avy in Deviant Art and thought it was cute and funny. Do you still draw and have more? You should post them.

Hello all:
My favorite Crossdressing and sissy dressing was on You Can't Do That On Television. They alwats dressed the boys in skirts, dresses, tutus, and diapers. Even when they were not dressed in as babies or girls, their normal attire was short shorts. Clearly they wanted to think of the boys as sissies. Pretty cool.
Chris

We have a rather extensive gallery on that.

transboy,
If you were trying to link to "Everything but the Truth," on Youtube, it has been taken down for copyright violation.
chrissy777il,
Yeah, there were a lot of "sissy" and crossdressing scenes in YCDTOTV -- but realize that the show was produced between 1979 and 1986 when short shorts for guys were not considered "sissy" but were the current style. Quite a few men and boys wore them for "casual" wear. Many US and Canadian teen boys at the time rarely wore anything else -- using them for school and everyday wear.
-
One of my favorite was The Riches, where Sam Malloy was the 12-13 year old son who cross-dressed. Chris
-
I loved that show. they're always cancelling the wrong ones.
It also starred crossdresser Eddie Izzard. I liked his old stand-up comedy acts. I was surprised he is also a good actor.
-
Unique story line, & great writing. Eddie Izzard acted & played the character extremely well. I was also surprised how handsome Eddie looked playing a "Butch" role.
FX ruined the series. They only came out with only 13 episodes, that ran for only 3 months, then waited almost a year to come out with 7 more. People forgotten about it by then or lost interest.
Kind of like what the BBC is currently doing killing the Dr. who series by axing some of the most popular doctors in recent times too soon, coming out with only a limited amount of episodes, then waiting almost year to air more. People won't give a crap about the show anymore. If they don't want us to watch anymore, just cancel it rather than phuck around & ruin it. The BBC did the same thing to the original series. Just about the time it was internationally very famous around the world, it seemed like the BBC went out of their way to ruin it & make it the worst show ever. Why take a sucess, & try to fix it by making it worse. If something works, it don't need to be fixed.
They did the same thing to the "Top Gear" series too. If Clarkson didn't punch the producer in the nose for not feeding them proper after a long hard day, I certainly would have for being jerks, & going out of their way to unpopularize the show by cutting more & more episodes, & making us wait a million years for new episodes.
Anywho, I just started watching The Riches again. I have long since forgotten many of the story lines, so can enjoy it again. Just finished episode 2. Wow that was a fun series. I don't remember much crossdressing in the show. The kid mostly just wore a girl's hair clip in his hair, & wore a pinkish or girl's shirt that could almost pass as a boy's shirt.
But is was a fun show to watch, thanks to the unique story, writing, acting, & Eddie. Just about to start watching episode 3. I had recorded the whole series on DVD at the 6-hour speed when it was new. Which is yucky 320p mpg at 6 hours playing time per DVD. Still a little better than standard 240p VHS, except for that nasty mpg pixelation during intricate & active scenes. Sort of like VCD/mpg quality.
It's all your fault. Now I'm probably gonna get stuck watching the whole series again because I just remembered how cool it was.
-
Hi Betty,
This video shows Sam dressed up a few times. He was very cute. The opening sequence of them going to the school with Sam completely dressed was one of the best but in this video you only see him walking away and taking off his wig.

Sure seems like a lot of crossdressing in the clip, but out of 20 episodes there's actually very little of him crossdressing, unless you can call a hair clip & pinkish shirt crossdressing.
The side menu at the video shows tons of Eddie's comedies. I love it. Here's a few of my favorites I noticed there.

The Riches was a Great show, was there only the one series? that's all we got in Australia!
Jeangurl :-*
-
I got 13 episodes from the first year, & 7 episodes from the second year. I believe that's all they made. It was cancelled while they were writing the third year, & just began filming it.
It's on the torrents. The whole thing is about 7gb. But it's no clearer than my copy recorded off DirecTV satellite on the 6 hour DVD recording speed years ago. Around 320p mpg or AVI quality. There's a few episodes on YouTube too, but no clearer.
They ruined it. They ran the series for just 3 months, then made everybody wait almost 9 months for 7 more episodes stretching less than 2 months. They couldn't develop any loyal fan base at that rate.
Sort of like how the BBC is now slowly killing off the Dr. Who series, by axing out some of the most popular Doctors in history way too soon, replacing them with a worse doctor every time, only cranking out a small handful of episodes, then making everybody wait a million years for more new episodes.
They make tons of money on the show too. When it airs in the USA, it's overloaded with top-dollar commercial advertising. Somebody at the top of BBC is pocketing that money rather than putting it into the show.

Torrents. Just be sure to use peerblock and/or an encrypted VPN so your ISP or content producers don't try to give you a hard time about it.
If content owners are not gonna make their material availble for years or decades, or destroy any decent copy of the material, they clearly didn't intend on making money on it. They really shouldn't complain when people will seek out & download any copy they could find of the material instead.

The trick is when you find what you like, you have to download & save it ASAP with downloadhelper or some other video/browser downloader before it's gone. Videos of movies & TV shows get deleted soon, or they get their account deleted. Sometimes your own ISP or country may block the link or stop it from functioning after it's reported. Even search engines may not carry or display some of the links to TV shows & movies.
So when you do find them, you have to be quick, & save them right away because they may be gone in a few hours or at a later date.

Up to episode 7 of the Riches. Although I remember the basic story, I don't remember much of the details of every episode because its been so long since I watched them.
So I'm really enjoying watching it again, because I don't remember what's going to happen next in a lot of the scenes. Episode 3 wasn't as good as the first 2 episodes, but the next ones are better.
It's kind of frustrating to watch though, because I know it was cancelled so there was no ending or conclusion written for the story.
One could probably take some comfort by making up your own ending to it all. Too many people, including careless & dumb people know their secret in the story. Too much evidence, lose ends, & trails are left. One could guess, if something like that story happened for real, they would eventually get caught, sent to prison, while the kids get placed in state or foster homes.
But I like a happy ending. So I'd like to make up a happy ending where they know they're gonna get caught so wind up getting a few million together & move to a country where they don't have an extradition treaty with the USA. I like a good fairy tale with a happy ending.
Anybody else got some ideas about how this story would end if they were the writers?
-
I remember watching that somewhere but I cannot remember where or when it was. Cursed old age, but I did enjoy seeing it. Thanks for the pics and links.
-
It was produced by the "cable only" FX channel. I'm still surprised they cancelled it before a conclusion. Like, how often does anyone make it a point to specifically tune in the FX channel to watch something anymore? They got a list of new shows every year, but I never see anybody writing about them, or hear about anybody talking about them. Surely if their stuff was as great as the cable channels & cable companies try to make you think they are, the public would be raving about them. I hear more excitement over an old episode of "Green Acres" from the 1960s, than anything on FX or even HBO recently. GA is making a comeback because almost every USA city has at least 1 sub-channel that's carrying the series again.
Over 1/3 of the people I know don't even get cable or satellite anymore. Most of them just use a TV antenna, & online stuff for their TV.
Many of the people I know who do have cable got it for the internet connection, so just get basic cable channels included in a cheap package, which is just the local channels, a couple Canadian channels, shopping/infomercial channels, church channels, & a Spanish channel. FX isn't even on basic cable packages anymore.
So in most areas, you can get better TV programming with an ordinary TV antenna than you can with a basic cable or satellite package... and it's free. With sub channels, I currently get 27 channels that I actually watch through an ordinary antenna. That doesn't even include around 11 religious or shopping channels, that I keep blocked out of my TV tuners. Plus about half the week reception is good enough to pick up a couple nice Canadian channels too. I'm sure I could double my channels with an outdoor antenna up high on a post or roof. Long ago, back when I had 150-250 channels through cable or satellite, I figured out I only ever watched 18 of them. The rest of the channels were just garbage, or just running a lot of the same stuff that other channels I got ran.
Years before I got laid off & could still afford it, I gave that crap up because it just didn't make sense to pay that much for so many channels to only use 18 of them anymore. I felt like I was getting robbed, & didn't want to pay the thief. Then the picture & sound quality was getting worse as antenna & internet TV was getting better. They were deliberately downgrading the picture quality to try to force you to pay extra for an HDTV box & service. I would have been happy with the DVD quality they used to deliver, but in an effort to get us to upgrade, they started delivering VHS or worse quality. When that started happening it was a no-brainer to instantly & permanently disconnect from them.
I had already been trying to use an antenna & online programming, because I was considering switching for a while. But it still took about a month to get used to being disconnected, & a couple months to fully adapt. It's hard to break old habits, & learn new ones, but once I got used to it, I'd never turn back even if I got cable or satellite for free.
With so many brought up on just cable most or all their lives, or their only antenna experience was a couple snowy or jittery channels when the cable was out, I'm surprised that a significant portion of the population has no idea they can pick up lots of clear HDTV for free with an antenna if they don't live too far from a city. Indeed, when most people first get a TV antenna they have no idea where to plug it in. They think they need something plugged into the computer or the wifi has to be turned on, or they still won't get anything without an internet connection. Of course those stupid rumors are spread anonymously in chats, groups, & twitter by the cable companies. Many also don't realize that USA channels my have 2-7 DVD to VHS quality sub-channels of separate programming. There's always a few channels running moves, many running old or classic TV shows, & we even have our own local Sci-Fi channel (Comet TV).
The Riches is on the torrents. Short on seeders though. So it might take a while to download. The entire series in better than VHS quality is only 3,26gb in file size.
https://kat.cr/the-riches-complete-series-mkv-compression-mkvgod-t5360826.html
I wish I could afford a seed box to help with some of this stuff that's just not available to everyone at any price. But I can't even afford my internet connect, phone, & electricity. If I could afford better, I won't be eating rice, beans, or Ramen every day.
I can't visit Facebook anymore because people are constantly posting pictures of food or writing about stuff they ate that I haven't been able to afford to eat in years. I'm probably healthier not eating that junk, but I sure do miss it.
