Hi,

Thought this an interesting article.

Things have definitely changed.

If boys were required to wear skirts and panties, maybe it would cut down on some of the rough housing in schools.  Probably tough to get the ruling past most parents. I would have loved it as a kid!

One quote that particularly amused me was: "However, critics of the new regulation accused government officials of acting like dictators and stripping parents of their power."  Sorry, but I don't understand how making skirts vs pants a matter of choice rather than dictating who wears which is "stripping parents of their power."  Don't parents still have the final say in what their kids do or do not wear to school?  And saying girls must wear skirts and boys must wear pants sounds to me much more "acting like a dictator."

And sorry to disagree, Sisiam, but I don't think anybody should be *required* to wear skirts, but I do think it should be a choice open to all, and I would like to see an occasional "everybody wear skirts" day (perhaps alongside an "everybody wear pants" day).
