There was a TV-Movie that aired maybe 15-20 years ago, either on Disney Channel, Nick, or maybe even as an ABC "Afterschool Special" (if they still had those in the late 90's/early 00's). The plot is: a young boy is being pursued by a bully. He finds himself backstage of the school auditorium where costumes and wigs are stored. He hastily dresses in drag to disguise himself and outwit the bully. However, the bully finds himself attracted to this "girl," who explains that "she" is the "sister" of the kid he's been tormenting, and admonishes him to leave him alone. The bully apologizes and asks the "sister" out for dinner. "She" rejects the notion, until he says that if "she" will go out with him, he'll never bother her "brother" again. After he leaves, "she" stumbles upon auditions for the school's production of "Cleopatra." "She" reads for the role just to avoid suspicion, but is immediately chosen for the lead role! So, between her male suitor and the play, "she" is forced to perpetuate the charade. All goes well until the night of the play, when he accidentally "outs" himself to the whole school when his wig falls off as he takes a bow during a curtain call.
The entire thing used to be on YouTube, but was probably kayoed by the copyright police. I do recall that many of the young actors had barely-disguised Canadian accents that slipped every so often ("I'm SO-rry ab-OOT bustin' into your changing room..."), so it might have even been originally produced by YTV or another Canadian kids' channel. I don't even know the title of the movie, so if it sounds familiar to anyone, any information would be welcome.
If it helps with recall, there's one silly exchange that sticks with me because it made me chuckle. It took place as the bully and the "girl" meet for dinner:
He: You look beautiful.
"She": Thanks.
He: And what's that amazing perfume you're wearing?
"She": Dandruff shampoo.
He: Oh.

BTW, FWIW, there IS another kids' flick out there with a similar main plot (a boy dressing as a girl to elude a bully), but it doesn't have the "Cleopatra" sub-plot -- that's the main distinction between the two.

Hi,
I think you're thinking of Masquerade from the Incredible Story Studio series on Discovery Kids.
If I've done this right, there should be a pic from the show below.

Hi,
Here's another one.

I love movies like that and of course we all wish it could be us. I don't think I remember that one though. There must be a list some where of all the movies with cross dressing scenes, but I mainly like the children's versions more than the adult ones.

One of my favourite TV shows was the Small Wonder where Jamie takes Vicky's place for the doctors visit. I loved her clothes and would give anything to wear them but Jamie didn't look too happy. I wonder if he was in real life though.

That sounds like the episode Zack and Cody were in on the Disney Channel. Cody is hiding from some boy and goes back stage unbeknownst in a girls play or pageant or something. He then precedes to dress as a girl. Later he is "forced" to audition for some girl's part and is chosen to be in the play. Very similar plot.
The original show was "The Suite Life of Zack And Cody". There are still clips on You Tube. I'm not sure about full episodes.
I think the one with Cleopatra is a foreign version of the same story plot.

That's the one - thank you!
Now, anyone have a lead on finding a copy online? As I said, for a time there was a lo-res copy on YT, but it's gone.

In the foreign version (from India) of Zack & Cody, & the original version, he is not in a play & doesn't play Cleopatra. In both versions, they're in a kids pageant.
A complete ENHANCED gallery of both versions can be found at Betty's here, http://buffalobetties.com/sissyboys/index.php/topic,822.0.html
At the last couple pages of the gallery I also include a gallery for the version from India. I also include links to the full episode there.
The Incredible Story Studio was originally a Canadian series featuring stories & shows written by kids for kids, then was sold off to Discovery Channel/Discovery Kids. Checked online, torrents, & usenet for the episode (S03E10 Masquerade), & couldn't find it.
Although I found other episodes of the show, I couldn't find that one. You might try a Canadian source. Hulu, or Netflix may have it but they force you to sign up to search a full list of what they have.

Yep. We still have a complete, & enhanced gallery of that, plus some added shots near the end of it of other crossdressing scenes from the series. Pretty cool stuff.

I just discovered Incredible Story Studio was also sold off to the Nickelodeon channel after being with Discovery. Back then Nickelodeon was owned my MTV, Nickelodeon & MTV had a real nasty habit of destroying all copies of all shows after they were done with them... esp. Canadian shows they bought out.
I guess the logic was, that you would be forced to watch the shows there because after they were done showing them, you'd never be able to see them anywhere again.
Actors, directors, & writers should get together & sue their ass for needlessly destroying their work, & history.
