BETTY PEARL'S PUB FOR SISSIES / Re: The good old days

Hi all! Betty’s sis here. I’m sad to see not much activity lately, but am grateful to those of you still supporting the site through your generous donations. It’ll stay around as long as you like. Thanks to Betty, it pretty much runs itself, and costs are not unmanageable.Hey Nory, as always you are an angel to keep these pages alive and a fitting memorial to your dear brother. I agree, it is a little sad to not see more activity, but please be aware, it is visited on many occasions by those of us who loved your brother's work. On the bright side, possibly, the lack of activity might be the thing that is keeping the spammers away, that and your late brother's mastery at coding.
Thank you! â¤ï¸
Always keep in mind, those of us who have been around for a good few years are grateful for your continued support.
Ace

Thanks for sharing. I often check back and see new things added to the list. Does anyone else know if any similar lists?

Thanks for sharing your views. AI scares me on many levels which is why trying to learn more. There is already a lot out of generated stuff floating around in a year maybe sooner it might be impossible to tell real from created.

Just as bad as AI:
Photoshopping a male head onto a female body, or
photoshopping a dress or skirt onto a guy in shorts!
When I say I prefer to see the real thing, I MEAN the real thing!

The real thing is SOOO much better. There are a few AI generated photos that I kinda-sorta like, but so much AI is what I have heard called "AI-slop" that the percentage of AI worth looking it is probably less than 1%.

Personally I don't like it. Much prefer the real thing . The whole Ai art and videos has got way out of hand. I question almost everything I look at now.

Hi,
It's been months since anyone, including me, has posted. I guess we all miss Betty driving the engine. I still stop in every day to see if anyone has anything to see. At any rate, I visited the Frick Museum yesterday and saw their current Gainsborough exhibition, The Fashion of Portraiture. This is a link to the site. Off to the left side of the screen you will see additional links to click on, one being All Objects which will let you see everything on display.

It's a brilliant show and I recommend anyone in the Metropolitan area to visit if they get the chance. Two of the paintings will be of interest to visitors at Betty's. The first is Master John Heathcote on loan from the National Gallery in Washington, D.C. I've been aware of Master John from a visit to the Gallery many years ago after which I bought a hardboard print of it which I still have. The second is Mrs. Samuel Moody and her sons, Samuel and Thomas, on loan from the Dulwich Picture Gallery in London.
