Hey Petticoated Boy, your mom might have been ok with a little girl time if you asked. I never came out and asked when I was older but mom and I did all the girly things my sister did not want to do starting from a very early age. I think that was the reason she never complained when I was dressing up very young. My sister had her head in a book all the time from an early age and even today so mom taught me to dance, sew, knit, crochet, cook and bake. Mom was a bit worried about her when she was going to get married after high school, she did not really fit the housewife role. When I announced I had my own apartment at age 19 going on 20, mom was a bit upset I was leaving home but knew I was more than able to set up house with no problems. Mom and dad donated a bed, couch, carpet and some pots and pans and dishes. The rest of the furniture I made myself. I was so glad to be on my own I dressed up every night after work and slept in my pink lacy night gown. That is when my collection of girl things got much larger. I held a wine and cheese party as an open house for mom and dad, my sister and her husband and my little brother but mom invited all her friends and a few girls from church too. She was trying to find me a wife. I had the lower half of a house with small living room, large dining room with wood burning fireplace, galley kitchen and big bedroom. It was the ultimate bachelor pad as there was a second exit door from the bedroom. I used that at least twice when I was entertaining a girl and another showed up for the weekend. Long story there but the girls never knew about each other for quite awhile. Anyway this is gone off topic.
