Kitties turned 4 years old last week. But because of some breathing problems, & a nasty toothache, we didn't celebrate their birthday until yesterday. They don't know anything about birthdays anyway. All they know is they had lots of fun, new homemade toys, catnip, & a can of tuna I saved just for the event. June 6th is their next big holiday... the day I took them home.
BTW before I get messages that say I need a better camera again. These were low-light pictures. The view finder & screen showed almost total blackness. The only light in the room was coming from a 4 watt CFL light & a monitor 2 yards away. Brightening them up with software only revealed more grain & distortion than an image. There was considerable filtering, processing, enhancing, & brightening involved on a computer to see anything at all. Another camera wouldn't have made any difference.

I may be off on my kitties birthday by a week. The adoption paperwork got buried in a few boxes a few months after I adopted them. The only thing I could find was something that was dated on June 6th, so I marked 6 weeks before that as their birthday. But that may have been the commitment date to reserve, & not the take home date.
Some archived electronic communications show I mention that I took them home June 12th or 13th. But most the pictures I took of their first day at my house are dated June 16th, but 2 clearly showing them in my house are dated June 6th.. Because I've caught Facebook, my phone, & my regular mail stamp the wrong date on stuff before, none of the dates are reliable.
However, just like Hillary, I also have my own mail servers, on my 3 web servers, which I consider pretty reliable because I set them up, & back them up my own way.
They show I did communicate getting the kitties on the 13th. So my babies are actually a week younger than I thought they were. Ironically I wasn't feeling well or breathing well when I thought it was their birthday, so their birthday, presents & birthday playtime was postponed a few days. It turns out we celebrated it closer to what their real birthday seems to be anyway.

I adopted my kitties & took them home 4 years ago yesterday (6 weeks after their birthday).
After losing the one old cat, then losing her brother about 6 months later, it only took me a month to decide I want a couple cats around again. Somebody sent pictures of a litter kittens when they were less than 2 weeks old, & decided I wanted 2 of them... so they can keep each other company or occupied if I was busy or away.
The whole litter, including the 2 y/o mother was available. I couldn't decide. Then after going through all the pix I got sent of them & the pix I took myself, I noticed 2 of them spend more time with each other than with the rest. I noticed playing with the kittens they stayed near each other a lot too. Even when they got tired, they fell asleep at the same time.
So at 4 weeks old I chose those 2 because it seemed they belonged together. But I couldn't take them home until they were 6 weeks old. I made the right choice. 4 years later, they're still a lot of fun to have around.
Although they will annoy each other or have an occasional argument, most of the time they're great friends, & they both like me too. Most of the time they'll compete for my attention independently, & get seriously jealous if they feel the other is getting too much attention. They don't like to share my attention. But if I'm busy or ignoring them, they'll play, groom, or cuddle with each other instead.
