Hello again,

Just watched the movie Bathing Beauty with Red Skelton and Esther Williams. There's a scene of Red Skelton in a ballet class dressed in a pink tutu. I couldn't find a full clip but this is most of the sketch with music instead of dialogue. You can see that the movie ends with a water ballet starring Esther Williams.

The movie was fluff but lots of fun due to the music which was wonderful. Harry James and his Orchestra, Ethel Smith on organ, Xavier Cugat and his band. This number has Red, the actress Jean Porter, Harry James and Ethel Smith doing their version of Loch Lomond. The last few seconds are in French.

Thanks. I'm working on getting a clearer copy of the 3 Cheers for Evil episode to watch.

Can anyone confirm if the crossdressing scene is in the movie (Babysitter's A Vampire) too, or is the TV series entirely new unrelated stories?

I can also confirm, there is no cheerleader or crossdressing scene in the movie, it's just in 1 episode of the TV series (S01E02 of the series).

Hi Betty,

I've never seen the film but I would think it's completely separate. Wikipedia says there were two seasons of the show broadcast, 13 episodes each. The site that pointed me to the episode listed many other crossdressing clips but didn't mention the film.

Hi,

I love Jack Benny and have spent the past few years listening to his radio programs and watching his television shows. One of his favorite things was to play Getting to Know You on his violin while accompanied by a child prodigy. It was always done as a comic bit and each segment runs exactly the same way with the child being told not to upstage him and, of course, doing so. In this clip, after the little girl comes out and tells him she plays the violin, he calls out to the wings for Don Wilson, his announcer, to bring out another violin. I haven't seen the whole episode so I don't know the reason for it but Wilson comes out in drag. That's why I'm posting it although I think the duet is wonderful.
