Males in Feminine Clothing -- Why?
« on: September 18, 2017, 07:07:56 PM »
Males dress femininely for a variety of reasons.
1 - One of the most obvious is that the person wants to be female.
2 - Another is that the person enjoys "passing" as female.
3 - Maybe he takes pleasure in the humiliation of being found out as a guy in a dress.
4 - Or maybe he guy has no desire to appear feminine, he just likes certain items of feminine clothing.

My question is this:
What if men had the same freedom to dress in traditionally "feminine" clothes that women now have to dress in traditionally "masculine" clothes. What if there were no particular distinction between "men's" vs. "women's" clothes, so that a guy in a dress, etc. were no big deal.

Would you be delighted or disappointed?

 ;D
Delighted .....

I'd be straight online for a 50's style polka dot shirtwaister with voluminous petticoats underneath !

Oh, just for the record, have no wish to be/pass/humiliated as a woman ..

Guess that makes me a number 4 (with sissy tendancies & fantasies)

I also fit mostly in the #4 category, but sometimes 3, or 1 & 2 a few times. But mostly it's a fetish rather than just wanting to look pretty. I can enjoy the little girl sissy look as much as wearing high heels & a sexy tight corset or girdle.

I would imagine if male & female clothing was identical, that people would still have the desire to wear costumes, play "dressup" & role playing games for fun, fantasy, or erotic play at least for a few hours once in a while.

Sometimes silky, smooth, or skin tight, or frilly clothes have an interesting or erotic feel & attraction no matter what sex they were intended for. Let's not forget, that even women can feel sexy when wearing their sexy female clothes. She is not trans but may actually enjoy sexy, fancy, but sheer lingerie or heels & a corset.

Heels & a corset aren't really comfort-wear, so there must be a reason some (but not all) women like to wear them, even when not talked into it by a boyfriend.

There will always be some people who will want to dress up as, or act out the role of being a princess, knight in shining armor, Superman, slave girl, ballerina, fireman, or GI Joe.

Even if male & female ballet costumes were the same, there would still be people who want to be a ballerina, or at least play one for a little while.

In it's most basic form, you can look at a house cat. Without any prey in the house it will stalk & attack a pet toy, it's owner, or another cat in the house as prey even though the cat does not intend on hurting the owner, other cat, or destroy the toy. All in fun, the hunt must go on, even if there is no real prey around. Kitty is role-playing a fantasy.

Erotic attachments, & fetishes even go on in the animal kingdom too. Most indoor pets, not fixed, may try to mate with a stuffed toy, rolled up sock, pillow, another species of pet in the house (house cats, dogs, & rabbits under the same roof may try to hump each other), or your leg.

Your parakeet may get very aroused at your finger, face, nose, or just being spoken to & petted, or with a toy.

Many male birds will pay extra attention to their feathers & really show off their plumage elaborately to attract a mate... even spending a lot of time decorating their nest too.

In primitive tribal societies in hot climates where the natives are scantly dressed or almost nude, they will dress themselves up, decorate themselves, or paint themselves to attract mates or a permanent partner.

Betty,
Very thoughtful answer, including things I hadn't really thought about.  Thank you.

Psychoanalysis of myself at an early age to understand what I was going through. At a later age it's a desperate attempt to justify who & what I am -- A study of one's self & what's around me.

Interesting question: "Why!" or perhaps "Why Not?"

"Because I want to be female".. Perhaps. But there is a hitch.
I have no desire to present as an adult female. I'm a "little girl". I function as an adult but dress in a very feminine, "young" style. Lots of petticoats, ruffles and bows.

Because I "like certain items of feminine clothing". Perhaps. The comments above relating to petticoats, ribbons and bows could show that.

Maybe because it's who I am. I have always had a fluffy little girl "inside". For about 65 years that I know of. She loves to go out and be seen and fluff around.. and DOES!

Grocery store, UPS store, Post Office, Home Depot, Nail salon, Airports, Downtown, dentist, doctors, car service... flying on commercial airlines... you name it.. I go there fluffy.. It's ME!

I usually get positive comments and rarely hear a negative word.
But then I don't try to "pass". As such, I don't think anyone feels threatened by me. Or that I'm trying to put something over on them. I don't care how hard I work at it.. I will NEVER pass as a little girl! LOL! I'm approaching my 70th birthday!

Betty's last comment rings a bell as well.
Sometimes when I venture out in male garb.. I feel invisible. Like no one actually notices me. It's like slowly disappearing. That surely doesn't happen when I dress in a frilly little girl dress, petticoats, a full head of store bought hair and bows! (And they don't know what this little girl wears to complete her outfits! But lets just say the "bathroom laws" aren't a problem for me! <giggle>)

I previously took pictures of what I wore when I went out in "LG" (little girl) mode. Perhaps I need to start that back up again.

Today I attended a Fairy House Festival here in New England with some friends who dress similarly. It was a great day! I'll try and obtain a photo of myself from them to post.

If dressing this way became commonplace would I be disappointed? I don't think so. I would likely continue to draw attention due to the particular way I dress.. and I would still love being myself!

Oh.. Slight (negative ??) comment today. Maybe. A gentleman said I looked quite like Ozzy Osbourne! OMG!

Personally I would be very happy, very delighted if I could wear womens clothes whenever I wanted without being judged.

I think I am to shy to insecure I worry a lot about what others think about me (just the way I am) but if a man wearing girly clothes was no big deal I would be overjoyed :-) (forget shirt, tie, trousers it would be blouse, short skirt fishnets in the office for me lol).

I dont want to be a woman (I think overall woman have a more difficult time than men in life) but I think I was born loving girls clothes!  Being able to wear girls clothes without being judged (but also still being able to be a man when I want to be) would be a dream come true to me!
