A crossdressing crime fighter
« on: November 17, 2021, 09:01:56 PM »
Hi,

I found a remarkable site for old comic books. It has thousands of them, full runs of titles starting in the 30’s, including D.C. and Marvels, which I’m sure their corporate parents know nothing about. For the most part they’re all complete including front and back covers, ad pages, and in full color. And in a really easy format for reading. I’ve been having a lot of fun going through their archives. I checked out Crack Comics, which ran from 1940 to 1949, and had early artwork by Will Eisner, who if you’re a comic book aficionado you would recognize as the creator of The Spirit. Anyway, in the first issue is the debut of Madame Fatal, a little old lady who fights crime, but who is really a crossdresser. It looks to me like he is modeled a little after the character Lionel Barrymore played in Devil Doll.

This is a link to Crack number one and you can check out the Madame for yourself.

Any board member of my age should get a kick out of this.
