Good one andyg, we have had a fair bit in Southern Ontario as well. Of course being the old guy that I am now, I tried and failed to shovel this load and hurt my back again. I will never learn my limitations so now I suffer and hope it will get better. Not had my usual back surgery for two years due to Covid and the hospital limiting day surgeries to emergencies and limiting hours of operation.  Hope you and Betty are doing OK so far and all our other friends who visit here.

Hi Angela,

We've been fairly lucky in New Jersey so far with two storms. The first was just a few inches and the recent one, which buried so many areas, left us with about 8 inches. I've had a guy to take care of moving the snow for some time and I really appreciate him. A number of years ago I found myself outside at 3AM, shoveling for two hours and decided then that I had reached an age when that was no longer a good idea. Hope we can make it through the rest of the winter without too much more.

Morning andyg, the harsh weather has a way of reminding us we are getting older and I too hope it is coming to an end. I have been pretty independent all these years doing everything myself and actually liking it but now I may need to hire somebody to do the snow and maybe even do my grass and garden. In years past I cleared snow for the neighbours on both sides of me as well as my own and did the walk all down the street to the fire hydrant which our city asks to keep clear in case of fire. This year I could not find somebody to come and tune up my snow blower or even dig it out after the first major storm covered it. It is a large one with power steering but last year it just seemed too much work to even drive that thing. My friends bought smaller electric ones to do their own walks and driveways so I might do the same. I am hoping there will be no more winter storms but nature is throwing us a curve ball the last few years, exacting it's own revenge on us for the way we treat the planet.

But seriously. I see reporters standing in ankle-deep snow in a northern city talking about "their storm". They or their producers clearly are not from the north, or weather reporters like too much drama in their broadcasts. Ankle-deep snow is almost picnic weather to us.
