54 MILLION hits to Betty's

I just noticed Betty's hit counter, hit 54 million sometime yesterday. That's counting since September, 2004. I don't know how many hits since 1994 when we moved from the Usenet (newsgroups) to the internet.

Congratulations Betty, the real count may be 108 million or more. I think I started visiting in 94 or 95 as that would be when I got a computer from my friend. He bought a new one every two years or so to keep up with the latest technology for his businesses. I was still trying to figure out the reams of perforated paper for the printer and trying to learn the little bit he was teaching me.

Going by averages that I remember since the 1990s, it likely would have been around 90 million by now, but maybe over 100 million. In those old days we were getting around 4-4.5 million a year, every year. Our busiest year was 2015 though when we made just barely over 5 million hits in a year. Our worst year was 2012 at just under 2 million in a year.

Thank you, Betty, for all you've done over the years. I think I've been coming here--on and off--for almost two decades and it has certainly been comforting for me to be able to communicate with others with similar interests and experiences.
