New Anime Film.

I have just read about a new Japanese film about two teenagers a boy and a girl w swap bodies.He always wanted to be a girl and she a boy.
Its called "Your Name" or "Kimi no Na wa"
It sounds great but Lord knows when The West will see it if ever.

Actually this is a quite common theme in Japanese cartoons & stories. I've read it already played in Los Angeles. But I bet it will only be in a few select theaters further east, like a few of the bigger or more enlightened cities like NYC, Toronto, & London. If it already played in LA though, I bet it's in Sydney by now too.

Until the disk is available in the USA, you may not see it in smaller cities, except for here at Betty's.

There is a reviewer's screener of it around. Be careful where you watch or download it from, you have no idea what a lot of those places will try to load into your computer or device. On the much safer torrents, only a music video of the film is currently available.

It appears it was on youtube but they were taken down due infringement notices.

I will negotiate to get the screener for review to/for a limited audience here, like at our private movie section for members only. Most are very liberal or don't care if this kind of stuff is shown privately to a handful of family or friends for a short time in a compressed form, like we do here. As long as we don't make a full HD version available to the general public, most of them have little concern about a compressed version for private viewing to a few people for a week or 2. It even comes under the grey line of "fair use" laws to run it that way.

But I don't like to push "fair use" heavy. It's always better to get permission to run it privately, even if it means paying a quarter or 2 per viewer, or a few dollars for a week or 2 of running it, rather than argue & fight with a multi-million dollar company about "fair use".

Thanks for the movie alert. I just finished watching it.

Wow, that was a great movie! I really enjoyed it. Way above & beyond your typical anime. The story is nothing like what you'd expect. It's a little more than just a story about switching bodies. It's a love story, with some pretty spooky aspects to it.

As soon as I do some conversions, & close some legal loopholes, I'll include it in our movie section for a couple weeks... maybe by this morning or afternoon.

This one is not permitted to be downloaded & saved. But my servers won't know the difference if you download & save it, or your browser saves it in its buffer while watching the stream. It has a number ID on the screen though, so if you save it, please don't re-distibute it or put it on the torrents, or try to put it on youtube. Just keep it for yourself.

GD isn't meant to be a mass server, but to serve large files to a few at a time. So if you have problems playing it, it may be being served to too many people at the time.

Movies that stop or freeze partway through, & won't re-start, or won't download, try reloading/refreshing the page to get it going again, or try later. It happens sometimes when more than a few are viewing it at the same time.
