I've been experimenting with some different software for re-engineering sound.
Who remembers the 80s dance club song by Divine, You Think You're a Man?
I took the old song & dabbled around with it to make it different. Not necessarily to make it better, but to just make different or new versions of stuff. So I thought, what if I gave Divine a little higher voice... without making her sound like a chipmunk, & slowed down the very fast song a bit.
It's quite mysterious & different that way. What do you think?
http://buffalobetties.com/media/manthink.mp4I wonder if I could sell the re-engineered versions of old songs to club DJs who don't know how.
Of course, this is a highly compressed mono version for posting here. My full uncompressed remake is actually just as clear & crisp as the original CD. Beware though, those old club dance tunes are heavy on bass beats. They may overpower or distort small computer speakers if you play them loud, unless you turn down the bass. Forget about it on tablet, phone, laptop, or ordinary modern TV speakers, unless you turn down the bass & volume real low. You'll have to use earphones.
I added a simple small compressed slide show so you have something to watch with the music. The whole 9 1/2 minute audio & video is less than 5mb in file size.
This was just a test run. I plan on doing more experimenting.
