Don't forget to donate to Betty's for the holiday.
Monday morning on December 16th, my very expensive oxygen machine that I need to stay alive broke down & died. Nobody local is willing to fix these machines for people. The are plenty around willing to lease one out to you for $250-$400 per month, & they'll fix the ones they own that they lease out, but no one will fix them for patients who already own them.
They are willing to buy your old or broken machine for pocket change too. I guess there's more money is milking the health insurance companies for leasing them out at an outrageous cost, than fixing ones for people who already own one.
I had to rush onto ebay & buy another used one. Shipping tracking shows, it's still sitting in a USPS facility in Indiana since Dec. 16th. Grrr!
I have a cheaper weak Chinese oxygen machine as a backup machine, but it puts out nowhere near enough of the oxygen I need. So I'm just laying around breathing heavy most of the time. If I try to move around, or just walk across the room, I'm desperately gasping for air. I'm hoping the new, used machine will be here by Monday or Tuesday. If it wasn't for the busy holiday shipping season, it would probably have been here by now.
The machine that just died only had 11,000 hours on it. The used one I ordered already has 7,000 hours on it. If that one only lasts 11,000 hours too, it means I'll have to buy another one in just 5 1/2 months.
Please donate to Betty's to keep us & me around another month, season, or year. Just click on the Pay Pal donate button at the top-right of most of our pages. It's quick, simple, safe, & secure. You don't need a Pay Pal account to use it. It will work with any credit or debit card.
