anti-transgender legislation relating to "minors"

Is it right that for the purposes of medical or surgical treatment, people should be considered unfit to make decisions about their own bodies until they are 18?

Unless it's something that must be done to survive, or relieve physical pain, I'd say 21 if it's something that will permanently change their bodies. By 21, they've been in the job market, become more sexually aware, & tried to be sexually active, so most of them will have an entirely different outlook & opinion about such things. Most teens do a lot of crazy & stupid stuff, & are an emotional roller coaster. Pre-teens don't even have a clue to make a serious decision like that.

100% agree. My only question would be how all this might be affected by the use of puberty blockers to prevent the bodily changes that would normally cause strong and relatively permanent masculinization or feminization of the body during the teen years.
