Kind of a horrible thing to do to such cute dresses and shoes.

Mothers - time to reflect on what 'Pool Girls' should not do with their clothes !

Far from being HORRIBLE even with plenty of bleach and whitening agents I don't think the dresses will ever be the same.
The shoes maybe since if they were cleaned and taken care (dried) right away out of the water/mud.
Only the inside would be of concern (hard to clean area).
Then a future problem when wearing white sox/anklets leaving dirty stains causing more cleaning.
What were these people thinking of ?
Then with this use it and trash it society - probably no real big deal !
Never the less even letting the 'Pool Girls' into the swimming pool was setting a very bad example !
But then there was probably a budget to be busted with a "B" grade movie/photo shoot set.

Good thing that NO DIRTY DIAPERS were involved that would raise my ire another notch cause this kind of stuff doesn't
have to happen.

People wear colored clothing in pools with no problem with discoloration at all. It depends on the clothes, & if they were allowed to stay wet with chlorinated water in them all day.

But I gotta wonder who are these people who put pretty dresses on kids, & then put them in a pool or mud to play? What are their motives? I've seen the boy sitting in a room full of teenaged girls in a dress. Could this be a case of older siblings doing this to their younger siblings for kicks?

I had this exact same dress in red & white. It got lost in the fire. I loved it. I still have an all white version that survived. It accidentally got packed in a box of old curtains & moved to my old downtown office. So it never went through the fire.

Betty,

According the person who originally posted these photos to USENET many years ago, the girls (yes girls) are his granddaughters.  Their names are Bridget and Emily.  The other girls were mostly neighbor girls and friends who joined in over the years.  He claimed that they thoroughly enjoyed swimming and being photographed wearing street clothes and had their mother's approval.  Their grandmother was the one who bought and took care of everything.  So the whole family was involved and everyone seems to have had fun doing it.  There were several other families into this, as well, and they had a public website up for at least a year or more.  I'm pretty sure all of the subjects were girls.  I don't recall seeing any boys involved.

How come the pictures aren't displayed? is it a rights issue or technical issue?

Phew Gemma, almost 1 year since the post, you're lucky the web site still exists in this day & age (unlike Bettys which has been going for ever  ;D ). I checked it out and the pics still display for me (although from memory the original boy-girl ones aren't there anymore).
