Petticoat Discipline Quarterly and the demise of the writer

I have just viewed this month’s edition of PDQ and must say that it has become very predictable and not very interesting. In it's heyday under Susan it had a sense of fun about it and was on occasion very tongue in cheek, something that is lacking today. Susan also published a much more diverse selection of letters and stories than is prevalent today. Where for example are the babying letters? They seem to be non-existent these days. Off course this may simply be due to a lack of decent contributions. I was thinking about this when I viewed the way back link with the old stories. There was definitely a golden age when very good stories were written on a regular basis by the likes of Dara Janey, Baby Bobby and Deewitt as well as many others too. Don't get me wrong, I am immensely grateful for the extensive "back catalogue" that is available but I notice more and more these days that when I Google looking for stories that appeal to me that there are seldom items that I have not seen before. May I also say that having set up several groups over the years where I contributed most of the material, I do understand the insatiable appetite of readers whose reaction after spending ten minutes reading a story that took me ten hours to write is to post demanding another one. Is the golden era of ab/sissy stories over?

You are new here and what a keen observation. I too note the absence of the stories that would keep me reading to the last period/paragraph.
The old ones even if they were awfully long would keep you turning page after page until there was no more.
Some of the new ones get to the point too quickly and leave you with that after taste of what was that I just read ?
Yes the new stories are becoming few and far between and the authors of yesterday are retiring or have something else to pursue in life.
Since you are new here - note - that Betty has brought back to life several stories from the Archives that have a wealth of reading material.
Also if you are a member on this one forum expand your horizons - there are a lot of sites out there with more baby (diaper) related material.

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who thinks PDQ has been in decline since Susan MacDonald's demise. The emphasis seems to be on women petticoating their older husbands and , judging by the looks of the other features such as "Castre," all of the men in petticoats appear to be about the same age as Don Rickles. There's no sense of youthful fun or embarrassment anymore; it all reads more like the description of a drag show at a retirement home. Dull, dull, dull.

Thank you for the welcome Babylock. I am aware of the sites you kindly link to and indeed they are excellent. However, I still maintain that we are lacking the originality we had a few years ago. Perhaps the reason for the paucity of new stories is because there are only so many scenarios that can be used. PDQ may well suffer from this too and I am pleased not to find myself the lone voice in my assessment. I also know people will counter with, "why don't you write something yourself then." A good question, I have written but my own preferences inevitably come to the fore and they are a little limited in their general appeal. As I have said, this is not a complaint, merely an observation on current trends.

Yeah, my fantasies revolve around seeing younger boys being feminized and/or diapered. I guess that's why I like the Christine series so much. She does such a good job with that site.
