I was lucky right after the fire to get 3 of them from Amazon suppliers for around $14.99-$16.99 each. 2 pink ones with patterns, & 1 solid very light pink one. One was in girls size 14 which is slightly snug but still comfortable with plenty of room in the bottom, & 2 in girls size 16 which are a little too loose but wearable.
I should have been bored with them by now & needed new ones, but I'm not. Since my COPD I'm afraid to dress up too much in case I have a breathing/medical emergency. So I usually just sleep in sweatpants & a sweatshirt in cold weather, & T-shirt with shorts in warm weather. In the daytime, because I live in a multi-unit converted mansion, I have to worry about people/neighbors knocking at my door almost every day. With the COPD, it's too much effort & struggle to hurry up to change into something acceptable just to answer the door.
My dressing up times with sleepers, dresses, & other stuff is limited to only late at night or overnight when I'm gonna stay up & awake. It's the least likely time someone would knock at my door. But only at times when my breathing is extra good, so I'm less likely to have an emergency. Even on a good day getting dressed up can be a labored effort with lots of heavy breathing or gasping for air.
I don't get too bored with them, because on an average week I may only get a chance to dress up a couple times a week. For almost a month now my breathing has been extra bad. Just going to the bathroom, trying to make a meal, shower, bath, or dressing in anything simple causes me to desperately gasp for air. I only change clothes once a day now, & sleep in whatever I wear in the day. I find even wearing pretty girl's shorts & a top pleasant when I have a chance... anything quick & easy to get in & out of is preferred with COPD.
With my breathing, I find I breathe better cool with low humidity. I have to run my AC even on cooler nights now just to keep the humidity down low, & keep it cool enough to make my breathing bearable. I keep my heat turned down pretty low in winters to save on heat costs, so I must be used to it cooler too. Even before COPD, I could easily handle the cold, but not when it gets in the upper 80s F... esp. around here when it gets as humid as a swamp or steam room.
The last time I wore a sleeper was in early May. Wore them a lot in the winter on nights if I was breathing fair... they're so easy to get in & out of with little effort.
Sleepers are pretty much out of season now with summer coming up. I'd think they'd be hard to come by this time of the year, but if you can find them now, they'd probably be on sale. The catch with trying to find them in adult sizes online these days is many call them "footed pajamas" or "footed romper" instead of "footed sleepers" so you have to do a search under many terms to find them.
