Cute picture, it reminds me of many days I spent in my sisters room trying on her clothes. As I was only a year older than her most things fit until I reached the age of 13 or 14 then I started a growth spurt. About this time I started going to the small local plaza with a discount clothing shop. I had in the past shopped here for plastic panties but only looked at the girls clothes but now that my sister was smaller than I was, it was time to try and buy my own girl clothes. I started with panties and tights (loved tights) and of course my excuse was a birthday gift but I did get some looks from sales ladies. When I finally got the nerve to buy a skirt and cute summer dress the sales woman made a big fuss over what a nice brother I was and called the other woman over. I never thought I could shop there again and it was a long time before I went back.

One recollection I had was when I took a lime green satin skirt to the fitting room of a thrift shop. As I was trying on the skirt I heard one of the women who worked in the shop say to her collegue, "there's a man in there trying a skirt on." I felt very emabarrased.

Another thrift shop I went to I took two skirts to the counter and told the lady I wasn't sure about the size. She was very good and  let me try on the skirts in the fitting room. That was the start of regular visits to the shop. I got to know the staff quite well, eventually I confessed that I liked wearing skirts. It was as though a weight had been lifted from my shoulders.

I like to visit the thrift shops but have not had the nerve to try anything on and half the staff there are men so I am not sure what would happen if I tried it. One of the women said something to me once when I saw a very nice white blouse. She pointed out it had very nice pearl buttons and lots of lace. I think she was trying to find out if I wanted to try it on without saying it to my face.

When I think back to my late teen years I may have been able to get away with trying girls things on as I was skinny and had longish hair. I always wore colorful shirts and dress type slacks (I hated jeans) and even a kerchief round my neck so I might have passed for a tom boy and gotten away with trying on dresses and skirts. From age 11 to 13 I was often in the shop buying plastic baby pants and girls panties.I was getting strange looks from female staff so I stopped going in there. In my late teens I do not think I had the nerve but I sure had the desire.

When I was 11 my mom and her friend used to run a second-hand clothes shop, which I frequently visited. In those days I never looked through the clothing, if I'd known then what I know now, things would have been different. All those lovely girls dresses to drool over.

When I was eleven and even earlier, I never missed an opportunity to wear girls clothes. Those of my sister and her friends and cousins were fare game for me if I could get away without being caught. Perhaps this was because I was always sure I was a girl inside and thought it very unfair I could not wear pretty clothes. In the early years my mother would just laugh when I was caught or found to be playing dress up with my sister. It was not until my father caught me that all hell broke loose. After that mom did not approve and later in life became quite mean if she caught me or found my hidden girls clothes. When she was quite old and getting dementia I often wondered if, when all her memories of times gone by were flooding back. She ever remembered my dressing and related those times to her caregiver. She was often talking to her about the old days and those memories were quite sharp even though she would not remember things I had told her in the morning. Her caregiver never said anything to me but some mornings she would give me strange looks when I arrived and I would overhear conversations of our life in England and shortly after coming to Canada. Mom never said anything to me about my dress up times although she was quite good at remembering details I had forgotten of many things from back then.

I came to the scene quite late in life. I was around 40 when I discovered petticoat punishment through the English version of Forum. From then on I was hooked on anything girly. Until then I was mainly into the little boy look rather than the little girl look. I wore short pants quite a lot rather than dresses or skirts. Although I don't wear dresses I much prefer skirts with a nice silky slip underneath.

Anyway, what this is leading to is. I've often thought back to my boyhood and if I'd known then what I know now in regard to what I call my gurly side, I wonder if mom would have let me have some girl-time and bought me dresses, skirts and the sort of things girls wear. I would like to have worn these when I was somewhere between 12 and 16.

I'm not sure how she would have reacted to such a request, I feel she may have thought I was just going through a phase, but if I told her I really wanted to have some girl-time then I'm sure she may have come around. I would have told her that she could have the best of both worlds, a son one moment, a daughter the the next.

I guess this is why I enjoy doing those photoshop images, I'm trying to create something I now wish could have happened to me. This could very well have been me.

When I want to try on an item of women's clothing in a store that sells both men's and women's clothes, I'll grab something from the men's department to take along with me into the dressing room.  Then I'll try on the women's item once inside.

Hey alison, I have done just that once or twice in my life but when I was younger. I picked a large busy department store so the sales staff were too busy to notice. I bought a nice shirt for myself and a nice blouse and skirt set for Angela. I have also grouped underware and panties together so the sales clerks don't usually give a second look. It is usually three to one though (one pair of male briefs to two or three panties) I don't wear male underware much except for doctors and hospital visits.
