With the lederhosen, odd cuffed short sleeve shirt, white socks, & his flute, I can't help thinking the outfit & his acting looks a little sissy-like.

Of course on the American web, most call him gay. But if Americans meet anybody named Sven, with a western European, or Icelandic accent, they call him gay. But it gets worse... If Americans hear an accent from anywhere else, they think they're a mobster, terrorist, or illegal immigrant.

I'm shocked reading the comments about the intense hatred for the Toaster Strudel commercials from Americans. Indeed many are screaming they want to punch the kid in the face. WTF!

You see, in America, if you are cute & male, Americans feel it is absolutely necessary to beat you up & scar you for life.

If you are not fat, ugly, & covered in thick body hair in America, you are not normal. If you are over 30, if you are not losing your hair, are bald, or don't shave your hair to within 1/2 inch of your scalp, you are gay.

Come on America. Go to therapy & get rid of your phobias. It's a big world out there. Everybody is different. Find something more important to hate, & for the right reasons.

Stop trying to wipe out or destroy everything that is cute or pretty, just because it's not macho enough for you.

The commercials are a bit weird, but I thought they were funny too.

Do they sell that clock anywhere (in the pictures below)? It's a cool clock.

On a slight off tangent... David Letterman announced his retirement next year. As creepy as he & Paul (even creepier) are, I'm gonna miss seeing someone familiar that I've seen for ages on the screen.

Who do you think will replace Dave? Craig Ferguson with his dancing horse & skeleton sidekick get my vote, but he'll probably not get the show. He's too liberal, with gay overtones for most Americans. Because he has a European accent, most Americans will call him gay & not like him too. It's a shame, he deserves the position & would do a great job. Maybe it's just as well. If they put him in the earlier time slot, they'd probably change him too much & ruin it all.

Then again, if Craig did replace Letterman, who would get the late night slot? Conan?

I have a lot of experience with European children; primarily German kids. Not meaning to stereotype but if you gave a German boy a baseball or a football chances are he wouldn't be able to throw it very well. Put a soccer ball on the ground in front of him and he'll run you ragged. If the children are born here that difference seems to disappear. Sure some of their clothing is different but now-a-days most European children wear western style clothing. The lederhosen and dirndls are used primarily for symbolic reasons and festival days these days. Gay? No. Fun loving, yes.

When I first saw the commercial, I thought, wow he is a bit "gay", especially for Americans.  I haven't seen the comments you mention, but I do think he is adorable, and like his commercial.  It truly is European in style, and I'm afraid there are allot of Americans, who just haven't travelled enough outside of this country to appreciate and admire this type of commercial.  I applaud Toaster Strudel, and I love their food too.  Yea, Toater Strudel!
