Nice choice for another gallery Betty. I love the old Irish dance dresses. The way they flip and bounce as the girls jig and tap. I agree with you, the traditional dress didn't have petticoats, just a stiff under skirt, but I too like the newer trends, flashes of those frilly petticoats, ahhh ....

Better be NOT taking "UPSKIRT" photos of these lassies in Massachusetts - New law.
But these groups are really something with their colorful costumes.
Remember the "River Dance" show I went to a few years ago and marvel at the
the dance moves - not so much the costume wear.
Thanks Betty for this gallery display !

LOL. Cool panties, even if they're missing lots of ruffles.

Since you posted all of these terrific dance pics Betty, I've been reading up on Irish dance costumes.  In the jargon of Irish dance the bloomers girls wear are called "kick pants."

These girls all seem to be wearing petticoats under their Irish dance dresses.  One could imagine that if a girl wants to wear a petticoat then she may also want to add a cute pair of ruffled rhumba panties to the outfit.

It was fun to watch all the girls Irish dancing in real pretty dresses, & big curly hair today & yesterday. It got me wondering how much some of those prettiest dresses would cost, so I searched online for them.

OUCH!!! $500 to over $1,000 for the real pretty ones... USED!
