3 years ago today, my kittens arrived home from the SPCA after getting their shots & stuff at 6 weeks old. I had visited them since they were a little over a week old, but I wasn't able to take them home until they were 6 weeks old.
It was less than a week after I took them home, I found out I was getting laid off from work. Had I known sooner, I probably wouldn't have adopted the kids because I would have thought they were un-affordable. But I'm glad I did. It's been a fun & adventurous 3 years with my cuddly little fur balls.
It wasn't until a week before the adoption date that I made up my mind as to which ones to adopt from the litter of 4. I couldn't adopt all of them for a small apartment with only myself to care for them. I didn't want just one because the poor thing would get lonely or go crazy alone in a small apartment when I was away or busy. Although they all seemed to play with each other equally well, when it came to nap time these 2 seemed to curl up with or beside each other the most. Even at 1 week old I saw (and photographed) the boy sniffing out for & finding his favorite sister.
Flipping through photos I had taken on my visits to them, there were a lot of them with those 2 cuddling up to each other. The boy always sought out Suzie when it was nap & cuddle time. Suzie also loved cuddling more than the rest, so welcomed all the attention from her brother.
So they seemed like a match pair, & most likely to get along with each other.
The first photos, with their collars & tags are still on, are from that first day that I got them 3 years ago. They kept tearing the collars off, & chewed them to bits by the first day, so haven't worn one since. The rest are from the following couple weeks in June 2012.
