Hey samantha1, I have often wondered how life would have been for us if we had stayed in the U.K. and pretty much gauge my answer by the lifestyles my cousins had. The boys seem to go into the Trades like my dad and most of the girls became housewives after some work in the early years. I have one girl cousin who did quite well in the education field and retired a few years ago. She and her family visited us two years ago and we still keep in touch now via facebook or email. Another boy cousin went to the best schools and recently retired from the education field as well but after running his own company in Australia, he is very wealthy. Some of the others did OK but I am not sure if I would have done so well in the English school system. My family and myself have been fortunate to always be employed in jobs we enjoyed and provided good incomes as well. I also ran a small business on the side with a good friend so we got to travel quite a bit, having at least two vacations a year. Compared to others I have been blessed so I don't complain much about my health issues for the last ten years, I just try to make the best of things. No matter how much money or good health we have we all end up in the same place in the end so I take one day at a time as they say.

That photo of the boy in a dress surrounded by girls was a wonderful find, Andy. I wonder what circumstances led to what we saw. From his smirk, the boy appeared to be enjoying himself!

To me the intriguing question is whether it is really a boy in a dress or merely a short haired girl....and if it really is a boy, what the backstory of the photo might be.

My take on this, or fantasy I guess, is it's a family get together and someone thought it would be nice to take a picture of all the cousins. As he is the only boy he decided it would be fun to wear one of his cousin's dresses as a joke. The smirk on his face tells me he is enjoying it immensely. The girls all seem to be wearing more dressy dresses while his is fairly utilitarian.

 I think you may be right as the girls look delighted they got him in a dress and he does look to be enjoying himself. They would all play nice together but if there was another boy present he would be teased I think.

Hi,

I hope everyone is staying safe during our pandemic. Shopping is now an adventure. I'm lucky being retired in that I can visit the stores every day if need be. There's been no toilet paper or towels in my stores since the weekend but I live alone and shouldn't have to worry about it. Chicken and meat supplies have been erratic but I managed to get a two week supply one day this morning. But this is definitely a long-term event. Hope everyone is making out OK.
